Will a game be worse than Far Cry or Cruis'n in graphics? Yes, it did happen. And it's Konami who is the publisher. And 3rd party developers are complaining that we don't buy their games. Shame on you.

Read about this today. XDD System Wars is full of it.

I'm saddened by Konami porting this arcade shooter... couldn't it have been AT LEAST an okay arcade shooter like Ghost Squad?

im dissappointed in Konami, They have one of my fave games (MGS4 gona buy a ps3 for that game), if it was like GHost Squad it will be worth it but if we see Osama Bin Laden on a golf cart in the news record it and show it to me and i will buy that game but till then im thinking im not gona touch any konami games for a while

Personally I don't see the problem....

"El Segundo, CA – January 3, 2007 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that Target: Terror™ is currently in development for the Nintendo Wii™. The game is based on Target: Terror Gold, the top-grossing arcade game of 2006 and designed by arcade pioneer Eugene Jarvis, founder of Raw Thrills, Inc., the developer of Big Buck Hunter PRO.

Target: Terror is the first game from Konami that will be compatible with Nintendo's new Wii Zapper™; players will be able to capture the old-school flavor of fast-paced light gun shooters from gaming's glory days of the arcades. Target: Terror puts players in the role of an elite counter-terrorist agent charged with protecting the U.S. from an ever-increasing wave of terrorist threats.

With a full-scale assault spanning the entire nation, players can show these terrorist thugs who's boss, using an assortment of lethal weapons including machine guns, grenade launchers, freeze guns, flamethrowers and even an orbital laser beam from space. Target: Terror also features a unique "Justice Mode," allowing players to dual-wield weapons for twice the mayhem.

Target: Terror also features an unlockable offering of fun and humorous mini-games inspired by a variety of arcade ****cs."

I think it's trying to look like thatJaysonguy

I thought so, too, at first, but after looking into the game, it seems like it's fairly serious. I'm not sure where the golf cart stuff fits in.... :?

Target: Terror was originally an arcade shooter released in 2004. It was controversial at the time, since it is loosely based on the September 11th attacks. Walmart banned the game from its in-store arcade areas. The original actually had some nasty violence. All of the enemies are video shots of real people. Their heads explode into fountains of blood with head shots, and every other shot squirts blood everywhere. I'm not sure if the Wii version will be this violent. Somehow I doubt it, but you never know.

The graphics are bad because it's a four-year old arcade port (Edit: It looks like it's actually based on the game's sequel, which came out in 2006. Makes almost no difference, however). That's just shameful. The enemies can't look any better since they're video shots, but even the textures in those pics are terrible.

With all that said, though, it looks like an intense on-rails arcade-style shooter. The Wii is the perfect platform for that kind of thing. But some updated graphics would be nice....

I was a bit angry when Sega released Ghost Squad with no graphical updates, sure it's probably one of the best looking games in the arcade and I guess it ain't to bad it's graphics, but at least it was a fun and game with some good updates like funny customs and a 4 player mode.

 The graphics are photorealistic. The golfer looks like real life .

But in all honesty, it's a shame to see money go to waste on these so called games.

I would cringe for them. If they asked me, "What's wrong?" I wouldjust tell them I have cold or something. Then the people who are buying the game would look at each other funny and walk away.

Jaysonguy

Do you use two Wii Remotes for dual wielding?

Anyway, the game looks God-awful, and there's no way I'm going to pick it up unless there's something awesome about it that I don't know about it. I've had enough on rails shooter. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2's arcade mode and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles will hold me over. I don't even think the latter was worth fifty bucks. On rails shooters are okay... It just seems that the genre lacks depth. All you do is shoot enemies with very few other options.

I have a feeling that we'll get more and more on rails shooters until there are more than mini game compilations. Oh well. I don't have to buy them.

Some of these shots actually look much worse than the arcade version - the one that was released in 2004, even. Mind-boggling, I tells ya. The Wii uses standard DVD discs with 4.6GB of memory. Gamecube games with poor textures could be forgiven because of the limited space on the mini-discs. But this kind of thing is just unjustifiable on the Wii.

Just look at all of those "graphics" they have! So many graphics! What is that, like, 16 bits up in this piece?

Yeah...I got like 4 whole frames in my sig. It's kinda hard to beat that. I'm pretty sure even Mario Galaxy's FPS is lower than that.

I'm sure all those pics are from the arcade version. This game better be sold for like 9.99 with a wii zapper.

Konami has got some balls in making a joke as big as this. I mean, screenshots and everything. I bet the actual "game" will just be a giant face bobbling back and forth with his voice going "Gotcha!" every once in a while between loops of the song "Der Fuhrer's Face". If it was, I would buy it.

If it's real, I might vomit.

Ok, lets clear a few things up.

First: the seriousness in this game revolves around terrorists and how they would strike - Eugene Jarvis in an interview with Coin Op TV

Second: The golf cart bombing is a hillarious minigame, one of at least 9 of them (others include things like ninjas throwing turkeys with dynamite strapped to them.

Third: This game looks cheesy because it is meant too and the graphics are a reflection of the port. Take a look at the arcade game, its exactly the same.

Fourth: This game was one of the top producing arcade games of 2006.

Fifth: This game has alot of potential for the Wii because isn't this type of thing EXACTLY what the Wii was produced for?

Anyway, I am personally looking forward to it. A comical rail shooter? Exploding terrorists? Hot chicks in leather? I mean what more could you ask for?

This game has a little something for everyone:

The teenage boy: hot chicks in leather

The teenage girl: you can piss your boyfriend off by showing him you are better at the game than he is (lol, and he thought he was pretty good at Cooking Mama)

The college fraternity: drinking games like "you shot an innocent so now you drink" or "I got 8 medals and you only got 4, so you gotta take 4 shots"(complements of a Kotaku.com post

The adult male: AGAIN chicks in leather and of course you get to kill things

The adult female: Something to keep your husband or boyfriend occupied while you sneak out for hours to hang with the girls

But this game seriously is alot of fun and all of you that bash it because of the graphics....just wait till someone you know DOES get it and you become addicted to it. You will hate yourself for admitting to it but you will play it and you will laugh your ass off at the minigames, just like everyone else. So get off your high horse, when you make a game feel free to post that up so we can all take a look at your graphical work of genius.

lets say you are right and im wrong,
but then again
playing it for 25 cents a play is a thing and paying whatever the price would be (assuming it would cost more than 9 dollars) is a very different one

OLD SCHOOL!!! It looks like one of those Arcade Shooters.

I'd shoot myself with the Wii Zapper before playing this... Unless it's actually fun
