The best thing to do is get rechargable batteries.

just buy rechargeable batteries and a charger... this way you can use them with other things like the wii fit board

The Joytech Powerstation is a good charger. It attaches to the wii power supply so your wii doesn't need to be on to charge and it powers down when your remote is fully charged.

take a look http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dual-Wii-Remote-Charging-Station/dp/B000L3DFS0/ref=pd_bbs_4?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1200764653&sr=8-4

I have the Nyko charger and it works great for me. You just pop the controller in the stand when you're done playing and then you don't have to worry about changing batteries. It doesn't work with the zapper though and you wouldn't be able to swap them into the balance board when it comes out.

Haziqonfire's suggestion is the best one here. For something like the Wiimote you want a Nickel-based rechargeable battery (NiMH or NiCd). The Nyko uses one of those, but it's in a battery pack and they aren't very high capacity. And when they stop working you'll have to go back to Nyko hoping they still make the packs. You'll get to that point sooner because each time you drop it in the charging station before the batteries are dead you have wasted one of the Nickel-based batteries limited number of recharges for its life cycle. So the best thing to do is to pick up a smart charger and rechargeable Ni-based cells that are standard AA size. If you look online you can find much better prices than from local B&Ms for high capacity 2600mAh or 2700mAh cells. I've got over 30 hours of play time on a pair of these so far and I expect it to go another 30 before recharging. I bought a whole bunch for myself and my brother and we use them for our Wiimotes and indoor mini helicopters. The only drawback is knowing how to properly take care of them (pretty easy, actually) and the amount of time a high capacity battery takes to recharge. This will vary will charger/battery combination.

I've got the Nyko. Bought it when I bought my Wii last June. Works great. Never had a problem what-so-ever. I'd get the Nyko or either the rechargable batteries.

I forget which brand I have, but I probably only get 5 hours out of a battery. Kind of annoying. And the docking station requires you to take the battery out...and it only charges 1 at a time.
