I don't remember him saying "total overhaul", I only remember him agreeing that the zelda universe needs a new element to make he experience fresh again.

it wasnt total overhaul more like massive but yeah it was said i forgot when post Nintendo's E3 confernce but before E3 was over in some little interview
I dont know what people mean by major overhauls, Miyamoto actually said quite the contray. He said there COULD be fundamental changes, but there will not be drastic changes. He said its needs some new ideas, I mean I can understand small changes to keep things fresh, but it aint broken dont fix it. I think it could do what Galaxy did, which is take a fresh approach on an already working system. And that doesnt mean throw Link into the middle of Halo.
