News: 7/10 Wii's aren't being played

a recent news report says Wii owner aren't playing their wii because it's just a novelty toy! vote to prove them wrong, i guess. I'll cast the first vote, i haven't been playing (sadly).

I play my Wii for all the friggin VC games I have so about every day I do...

But I play my Ps2 because it has had Guitar Hero 2 in it for the past 10 months... so you know what game is gonna be in my Wii for a while...

mines not being played because of

1. halo 3, otherwise i wont be playing my 360 either

2. lack of the games i want (so close. one more month!)

3. im a sheep who does most of his gaming on the pc :P

4. hey at leas i actually have games on the wii i want in the future. i am interested in like no other 360 game now.

I got mine about 5 months ago. I got 3 games, RE5, Twilight Princess, and Corruption (about a month after I got the console).. I never touch the bloody thing. I played it for a culmative of maybe 20 hours, most of which was on Twilight Princess. I beat none of the games. I really have no intrest in it. I played a bit of wii sports, but that grew old very quickly - yes, even with friends.

In the end, the novelty of motion sensing wore off and I just felt like I was playing a stripped down Xbox. I'll probably be trading it in soon, sad I wasted so much money on it.

There isn't a news report and no numbers. It's just someone saying that it happened with no proof.

I play Mario Strikers Charged every day!! And my Wii will get even more use after BWii, MoH:H2, SSBB, MK Wii,Civilization Revolution, Worms: A Space Oddityand many WiiWare titles!!

I havent been playing my wii much lately, but once November 14th comes around I'm gonna be playing MOHH2 online like every second I can.

...what the hell does a bizarre Michael Jackson music video have to do with the amount of time Wii owners apparently spend gaming according to a highly inaccurate study?

Well, since 98% of all stats are made up, we can't really say that EVERY 7/10 Wii owners don't use it... but I guess it's a good estimate.

Either way, I rarely touch mine. When I first got it I was like "Yeah, awesome!" but now it's just like "Ok... wow, this would be fun if there were any GAMES to play...". Hopefully by the end of this year I'll be playing it more... but right now it's nothing more than a white square underneath my TV with a red light.

The only reports I can find say that the president of the publisher of Famitsu magazine is relaying this "estimated" percentage of Japanese Wii owners ignoring their Wiis. I'd say this guy is probably well-informed, but it is by no means a formal study. And it's only an estimation of Japanese Wii owners. We all know that what the Japanese enjoy, in general, is often much different from what Americans enjoy, let alone the rest of the world.
