EA may not be able to convert their successful franchise to the Wii. If any of you have played NBA Live 08, you'll know what I mean. The 360 and PS3 versions of NBA Live received reviews in the 75-80% range, while the Wii version was below 50%, some much lower than that actually. I realize basketball is different than hockey, but you'd have to think that even if they did make the game for the Wii, there would likely be a big drop off in quality from the PS3/Xbox version compared to the Wii one.
If companys like EA would take a little time and update the engines for Wii and make sure the controls are tight tehy could have some excellent games. If some quality stuff is out I'll get Fifa, Madden, NCAA, MLB, and NHL, I like sports games. Never got into basket ball video games though.
Even if NHL 09 comes to the Wii, it would need controls similar to PES to be effective. I kinda want a next gen hockey game for my 360 though, 09 might be the year :P

I really want this game and I think the Penguins will be very good in NHL 09 (since they use the stats from the Year before) so I will probably get that for either 360 or PS3.
go to http://findgames.ea.com/game/nhl09 & it has the platforms. the wii isn't on it, but hopefully there will be a NHL game someday. but dion phaneuf is on the cover, which is pretty tight. (:
