So, currently I'm debating with myself if I should buy the Ninja Gaiden DS game when it comes out. The pre-game reviews say it's done well; but being completely stylus orientated, I still have my doubts. For some reason I imagine AC:Wild World chars replaced with ninjas lol.

What do you think on this coming title?

but you know being the kind of action game it is controls will be tighter in the sense that Ninja Gaiden for Xbox is tigher than Animal Crossing. Or to compare to GC games, compare any action game to Animal game.

Though the stylus was great for puzzles in Zelda Phantom Hourglass, I often found myself wanting a more traditional (d-pad and button) approach to the combat. I fear that it may be the same for NG.

Well Zelda was done really well for touch controls only. I dont find it a bad thing that this game will have them too.

It was done well but I still think they should have had a d-pad option as well I would have enjoyed it better.

And the same will go for Ninja Gaiden, if you canuse the d-pad instead of always using the touch screen then awesome.

i dled the demo at eb games the other day. it was really fun. but the boss dragon was real easy to beat. the fighting system is a little bit deeper than phantom hourglass. and since its held brain age style, like a book, the d-pad wouldn't work as well as it could.

I dont see why they dont use the L button and the d-pad along with the stylus. Oh well it still works great to use all stylus many games have done it and done it well. I would just prefer a combination because it makes it more precise and fast paced.

Haven't seen any developer vids or the preview impressions have you? Buttons wouldn't work. The stylus controls are far better and people who have played both the xbox 360 and DS Ninja Gaiden games find the DS version far more responisve and they can pull off moves that they found next to impossible on the xbox 360 pad.

read my post again

I said i would prefer the combination of buttons AND the stylus. I would much rather be multitasking with accurate and speedy attaks.

Think about it.....

idk, i might get it, but only if i beat phantom hourglass. i havent had the time. this game looks nice, but i think it might be too frustrating on the ds, saying that since all the other NG games were very tough.

I think I read in one of the previews that it uses the d-pad for some dodging moves. Using any other buttons wouldn't work with a book style game. Oh and if you want traditional controls then buy Ninja Gaiden 2 when it comes out instead of this game. If you don't like touch controls why buy a DS?

Although this game looks great, I wont be getting it. I am not a fan of the book style of holding the DS. It just doesnt feel comfortable to me. I dont mind that the controls are mostly stylus but I couldnt stand holding the DS sideways.
