If he said he would want to make a NG on "HIGH END" Consoles, im guessing hes meaning technologically advanced consoles.
So im guessing, not the Wii.

I noticed that too, although not seeing the actual interview it's had to tell. I'd say I would love NG for the wii, although I honestly don't expect it.

because i except the series to evolve both from a visual and gameplay standpoint and the fast combat would only be hampered by motion controls
I hate to break this to you, but he pretty much said the opposite of what you want...Englando_IV
looks ats his upcoming ng title. he seems to say one thing but does what i wanted from the series

He just shot it down man...he didn't give you any hope of Ninja Gaiden Wii. He was nicely implying he's only going to dev for 360/PS3.

Yup. As a matter of fact, had the TC quoted Itagaki in context, it would seem quite evident that there was no intent on making NG for the Wii. The director for Dragon Sword, however, did say he would enjoy working on the system (as well as doing another game for DS). I in no way interpreted that to mean he was intent on bringing Ninja Gaiden to Wii. Would be pretty damn interesting, though, to see them work out all the insane mechanics that are part of Ninja Gaiden. Not that it couldn't be done, but it'd likely have to be an abbreviated version, like Dragon Sword.

That idea was something I always ridiculed.
In a recent interview with Tomonobu Itagak, GS asked if he would ever make a Ninja Gaiden to the wii given its motion control abilities. He said that he would want to make a Ninja Gaiden on high end consoles. This is not an official announcement but it's hope to me that one day Ninja Gaiden may come to the Wii. My question is, do Wii owners want a Ninja GaidenRealKilla_789
Sorry, the Wii is far from "high-end."
He obviously meant not for the wii. High End Console?? Come on man. that was a dead give away. plus I couldnt see this game as being beautiful on the wii.
Anywho, I will be picking this up in 2 weeks
nope no thanks, dont like the NG series. find it dull and boring but hey thats must mindless hack and slash gamesMitazaki
I'd love to see the people that think NG and DMC are mindless hack and slash games play the games.

Graphics would not be the only problem.

Sometimes it's a natural coping mechanism to dislike what you can't have.

thats the norm in here with most of the sole wii-owners. or with a handful of sole wii-owners . just diss the games that dont come to the wii. i just ignore them when they do that.
I'm not too sure on the whole graphics thing, I personally think the Wii (While it wouldn't look as good as the 360 or PS3) could pull off an incredibly good NG. I mean look at how good the DS version looked as well as played, alot of people thought that wasn't going to look good either but it shocked everybody because not only did it look great, it played great. Also, I expect NG to end up back on its parent console, Nintendo, seeing as to how the NG series did actually start on regular NES.
PLAY IT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!

That doesn't really mean anything though... So did Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear, and others that essentially "switched sides."

Well it at-least wouldn't look any worse then the old Xbox game, plus the motion controls could be done in a manner similar to No More Heroes where you mainly use buttons for attacks. That being said it most likely wont ever be coming to the Wii.
We may not get Ninja Gaiden but I'm hopeful Tecmo will compensate by giving us Rygar: Battle for Argus. I'm hopping they will do for action gaming on the Wii both gameplay and graphic wise what Ninja Gaiden did for the Xbox. Some may cry port, but my reason to be optimistic is actually the fact that Tecmo delayed it.
Rygar was supposed to come out for the Wii in December 2007, then it was delayed to August 2008 and now according to rumors from EGM it may be delayed until early 2009, I guess E3 will answer that question for sure. This delay makes sure that Rygar is a re-make rather then a port, think Resident Evil on the GC as opposed to the PS1. Re-makes mean a graphic and gameplay overhaul that takes advantage of what the target console has to offer, almost as this was a full blown exclusive.
Of course Tecmo may have also delayed it because of the critical and retail drubbing that action games like Soul Calibur Legends and Dragon Balde took last year, because both where rushed. So if a year's delay makes this a must own Wii action game then maybe not getting Ninja Gaiden won't seem so bad.

It's far from mindless. If you just hack and slash away you'll NEVER get past the first boss in NG. Anyway, I played the demo of Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword yesterday on my DS, and it was amazing. If they could some how put controls similar to that on the Wii, I'd buy it instantly. However, I don't see that happening. As said before, this guy is about gameplay AND graphics, not just the former, so it's probably not coming to the Wii.

Actually, with the examples you gave, it does. Final Fantasy came in the form of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, and Metal Gear came in the form of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Granted the former was a spin-off and the latter was a remake, they still came back. Using that reasoning, why would it be completely unrealistic to expect a Ninja Gaiden for the Nintendo Wii in the future?

I disagree with you. Ninja Gaiden DS is great, it looks good and plays better. If you just want to press buttons is not difficult to do it in Wii, graphically it can look, at least, as the Xbox (old) version. Personally, I'm very comfortable with motion controsl and had embraced new control schemas. I think NG could have a very good implementation with motion controls but, in any case, that depends on publisher...
