Nintendo 3DS actually a full blown new System!

I was confused at first, I thought hey just a new DS with 3D as the new thing, but I didn't know how much of a step they were making with it. Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Kid Icarus, and even a new Resident Evil, the graphics look outstanding, perhaps even on par or better than the PSP's graphics. Can't wait for the 3DS now, I suggest you guys read the GameInformer article on it.

Yes i believe it uses a slightly different cartridge then the normal DS uses. Im just wondering what the price range will be on this handheld.

Yes, its nintendo's reply to kinect and move. The 3DS is being treated like a console release just like kinect, and move. We wont see NEW consoles any time in the future about another 3-5 years.

No it is not. This is a new system that's completely updated. This is not another DS or an add-on. They just look similar...think of it as how Nintendo went from Gameboy Color to Gameboy Advance. You won't see the real NEW system line for another 6 years or so.

I would love to buy the 3DS the first day it's out, but is there any danger of it being bad for your eyes? I know that ten or so years ago, game companies were testing out 3D, and when they learned of its harmful effects, they scratched the whole project.

I kinda knew that at first...I mean with the new Mario Kart and Animal Crossing :P.

That comparison also works because the DSi is, at least hardware wise, very much to DS what the Game Boy Color was to the original Game Boy. Both the Color and DSi have almost double the processor speed of their predecessors, four times as much RAM, and added a couple notable features (Color and an IR port for the GBC, Cameras and storage memory for the DSi). Neither made any drastic change to the architecture however. While the 3DS, like the Advance, actually makes a significant technological leap forward.
