Hey, I was surprised on how good the graphics look. I only have one game, PES 2011 and it looks really good. But it got me to thinking. The nintendo 3DS is really creating two images... which in essence I guess it is "playing the game twice". So what if a developer decides to make a game that doesn't use any 3D? Couldn't they utilize all the horsepower just on one image? If they could the Nintendo 3DS could get some killer graphics.

I wonder if any info is going to come out about this!

Well you have the option to turn the 3D off so they could do that with games out now. The 3DS just came out so in two years the developers will create some amazing looking games regadless.

I get what you are saying but I think I should clarify something. You can't really do this as of now because the game would have to be developed with no 3D. If a game now was able to push the 3DS to its max in 2D mode, as soon as you switch on the 3D you would get a HUGE frame rate drop (because the 3DS would not be able to push itself to create two of these images). So for this idea to work, you would need a game that is created JUST for 2D. Nintendo would have to have a 3D disabling mechanism to prevent people from trying to turn on 3D in these types of games... which they already do with DS games. The 3D slider does not work on DS games (as I'm sure you know).

I think TC is right, already, certain games double their framerate when you disable 3D.

Just to let you know pes 11 on the 3ds is just a psp port. Yeah it looks good but it could be 2-3 times better if The game developers try hard enough.

Nintendo stated that developers are given the choice to either use the 3D or not. Expect some great looking games in the future.
