It was said awhile ago that Nintendo had all rights to put old Rare games on the VC. But do we know if this is going to happen? Considering how long it takes for the VC to release games it could be sometime before we know if Nintendo are going to. So does anyone here know if they are aware they can release them or if there planning to?

Donkey Kong could easily be handled by in house developers of Nintendo. For some reason they wont do it even when Donkey Kong 64 sold almost as well as Mario 64. Think of what they could do with this game......

Donkey Kong Country I and II are on the Virtual Console right now so let's just hope more Rareware games come.

They deffinitley need to make a sequal to Donkey Kong 64. No more stupid bongos or crappy alternative controls, a full fledged Donkey Kong adventure again! And Banjo Kazooie! If the Wii had those two games sequals than it would be the best console for sure.

DK is very possible and likely Banjo doesn't have any chance.

I wasnt really looking towards rare made sequals but more to releasing Banjo-Kazzoie and stuff on the VC. But yes, we do need another cool DK game that isnt Drum related. DK 64 didnt have so much an interesting storyline or detailed levels but it was really fun gameplay. They need something like that which Nintendo could easily make. New Banjo-Kazooie sequals will not come out on Wii. Although we may see a DS one but so far the next one is planned for the 360.

I thought Rare had the rights for the banjo franchise, or am i wrong? A new donkey kong adventure game would be possible, though.

I sure hope they do. I hate the fact I don't have Bad Fur Day for the N64, I wish they'd release it on the VC

I thought that to. Banjo can only go on the 360 or DS but hopefully we'll see him on the VC!

In order to do this right it has to be done by in house Nintendo. If they could do wha they did with SMG with the amazing visuals with shaders and all and a new look at the genre. Speaking of platforming a new DK game would require to kinda branch out from platforming. they could do more of a sand box platforming where you go certain directions filled with enemies and obstacles to get to bosses which leads you closer to King K. R. I dont think it needs all that collecting or at least not as much. DK64 was really good but had way too much to collect they can trim that down alot and make a really advanced boss fighting system.

IF they do this we will see another 9.5.

Only DK has a chance of coming to the VC. Banjo, Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark will not be coming, as they are now owned by Rare, which is owned by MS.

Perfect Dark, Banjo, Conker and all the rest of them will never be on the VC. DK(as Nintendo owns this franchise) will come eventually(2 of them have already come).

The only thing Rare does for Nintendo now is make a few handheld games, Nintendo still owns some of Rare.

My dream: Nintendo buy Rare back. Chance of happening: 0.000001%

Now I was aware that Nintendo does have rights to put stuff like Golden Eye and Banjo-Kazooie on the VC. This was confirmed some months ago. A DK64 sequal would be really good and like someone above me said to cut out some of the collectables.

i think that nintendo does have the rights to put rare games on the VC. i mean, it was made on a nintendo console, but apparently people keep saying that they don't have the rights to do it. yet microsoft probably wouldn't be able to release RARE games on xbox live since those titles were made on a nintendo platform. why does there need to be all this arguing? can't they just release goldeneye, banjo-kazoieand other classics on both XBL and on the VC. then everybody wins, and we would all be happy.
