Not everyone is cut out to be a president, but every Wii™ and Nintendo DSi™ user must act as commander-in-chief of his or her own gaming republic. On this Presidents Day holiday, Nintendo recommends reaching across the aisle in the spirit of bipartisanship, creating harmony between new and classic titles, puzzle games and platformers, sprawling console adventures and crisp hand-held challenges. Start with the fantasy-fueled fun of Faxanadu, a memorable RPG from the NES™ era making its appearance on the Virtual Console™ service. Test your resolve even further with a demo version of the action-filled Rage of the Gladiator for the WiiWare™ service, available to download for zero Wii Points™. Most importantly, boost your diplomacy by sharing your favorite WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare™ game recommendations with friends and spreading fun throughout the 50 states and beyond.

I know this probably will never happen but I keep holding out hope that Final Fantasy III (Final Fantasy VI in real life) for SNES will be released on the VC. I'm sure I'll eventually break down and get the GBA version but I would love to play the orignal version legally.

They have Final Fantasy I for the NES, Final Fantasy II for the SNES (which is actually Final Fantasy IV), and they also have Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for SNES which is an RPG that is very casual and was made probably to introduce the Western Crowd to RPGs.

New info about FAST the new game from Shin'en (Jett Rockett and Art of Balance) :

http://www.thebitblock.com/2011/02/18/fast-racing-league-new-screens-info/

It looks very nice.

The game is about 900 MB and they did compress it at 40 MB. Seriously, Team Meat, you're lazy thinking that you can't compress a 90 MB game (Super Meat Boy) into a 40 MB game.

FAXANADUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! ZOMG!!!!! AWESOMENESSS!!!!!!!!! If you like Zelda or Castlevania then you should like Faxanadu. It's moreso like Castlevania though. It's an Action Adventure RPG with Passwords so long it'll make you squeal. I was just playing this the other day on NES and it was all sorts of awesome!!! From the catchy music to the Nostalgic Side Scrolling, it brought back soooo many memories. I've still yet to finish Faxanadu. This is the game that needs Reviving. A new 3D or even 2D Side Scrolling Faxanadu would be BOSS!!!! VERY GOOD week Nintendo if just for Faxanadu alone.

How much do you want to bet that this game never comes to the Wii and yet releases for the 360 just like Explodemon and a few others?

I'm going to at least try this game as I'm trying to get my 2 year old into games. I've been pretty successful so far and this might help even more. Plus he might learn something too I guess.

Well, I downloaded it just to say I have played in my life an EC game. You use just the wii remote to select between options (e.g. which pooyoo will fit in this cloud?, to set apart shapes, etc). And it yells you to stand up and mimic the on-screen dancers. But no, it's not Just Dance. :P

Yeah I tried it, it too was my first EC game. My kid liked it though, although he made me do most of the work. I may end up getting it at some point as it's only 500 points and if he has to learn stuff, it might as well be through videogames.

Thanks for posting this J_Ford!

I'm gonna be out of commission for a little while due to a bit of an injury (see my blog if you really want to know)...
