nintendo ds lifetime

I was wondering when nintendo will come with a replacing portable

I looked at ds and I noticed it was released on 2004 , that is four years ago

I know console time ranges between 5-7 years before the next generation

so is the ds lifetime is soon to be over and shall I wait, or does the hting

has another 3 years before they replace it?

I think the DS will be around for a very long time. At most, I think we'll just see refreshes. Larger batteries, larger screens, etc. but the core functionality will remain the same.

According to http://www.vgchartz.com/ the worldwide sales figures to date for the DS is 67.11 million.

The 68.4% represents the market share the DS has.

They will keep selling them as long as people keep buying them Plus, the games are just too profitable for devs to pass up. It takes less resources to create a DS game and you have a potential 20+ million customers to sell the game to.

Uhhh... isn't it supposed to be 2012? More importantly, I'm guessing a 2009 release for the DS 2, because there are a good number of games coming to the DS, but not many of them are Nintendo games, which leads me to believe that they have their handheld department working on something else.

I work as the electrionics specialist at my target and I was talking to the nintendo representative on her last visit; she says that nintendo will be coming out with a new DS in the near future(a year or two). She says the top will be about the same with as the base(without the GBA slot) and that the screen size will be the same. I'm not saying this is 100% accurate, but she's one step closer than any of us are to the knowlege. I wouldn't be surprised if nintendo did go this route as they made the GBA Micro.

I wouldn't buy a skinnier ds because my hands start to cramp with the DSL as it is.

All you really need to do is look at the crazy weather changes we have been having. The bibles nothing more then a few story's made and edited by many individuals. Ill take research done over a story book any day.

Because it'd be new, spiffier, and smaller. And then people wouldn't gripe about GBA games not being on store shelves when there is a current system that supports them. And at any rate, why do they refresh the look of cars in the middle of a body style? Because sales eventually start to slow down and there's tons of people who will buy the "latest and greatest". I'm not saying that this is certain, but it makes sense to me.

Edit: And you never know, it might have major hardware upgrades or a more sensative screen. All she told me was that the screens would be the same size.
