Hi. I'm planning to buy a DSi pretty soon and I was curious as to what kind of card the dsi is capable of running. Would this card work?

Also, how do I manage the files on the card? Does the dsi come with a usb cable to connect to my pc? One last thing, when I download games from the DSi Ware, do I save them on the card or the internal memory. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if 16 GB card will work but I think an 8 GB will work I currently have a 4GB and I still have 9,999 Blocks left I have 3 pictures saved to it about 36 songs on it, and 3 DSiware apps and games.

For the Last part of your question you can save it directly to the SD card but then you have to copy the game to your DSi system to play it.

well the manual said "up to 2GB", which is the only SD card i have around, so i haven't tested anything with more memory. maybe a patch has updated the limit.

I'm currently using a 4GB SDHC card and it works it just wouldn't show me how many Blocks I have left it says I have 9,999 Blcks left and I already used more then 100 blocks but it wouldn't say untill I probably get to 2GB left on the card.

I don't think it'll work. It might, but I don't think it's worth better money on.

And you have to have a SD Card reader or a computer that reads SD cards to connect it to your computer. And you can only manage the files on the computer. :(

From the Nintendo support website:

"Compatible SD Card types

The Nintendo DSi is compatible with most SD Cards with the following specifications:

Memory Capacity: Up to 32 GB (Gigabytes)

Type: The Nintendo DSi supports standard SD cards as well as high-capacity SD cards (SDHC) up to 32 GB in size. This includes miniSD and microSD when used with their respective adapters

Speed: SD Cards with a slow speed may experience slow transfer time when loading files, or may not work at all. Slow transfer times can also occur with SD Cards that have a great number of files on them."

"How many blocks are there on an SD Card?

Each save block on the Nintendo DSi takes up 128KB of data. The amount of space available on the a card will vary depending on the size and on files already stored on the card. For example, a 1GB card should have a little over 8,000 blocks available, but there may already be some files stored on the card."
