Is there any place to look at the shop's entire library or upcoming games?

Seems like searching through the e-shop is near impossible and I barely know anything about it even after searching on it... Maybe it's a pretty new concept that just recently started up? I dunno, I'm a new 3DS owner...

Nope. There's no A-Z list, for some reason.

When you enter the e-Shop there is a "Menu" tab in the top-left corner of the bottom screen, click on that and you should see a "Search" option. This option lets you search by Platform, Genre, Publisher and Price. Inside each tab are filters to refine your search, and you can filter "Platform" to show "All Downloadable Software", "3DS Downloadables", "Virtual Console" or "DSiWare".

Upcoming games usually get their own tab on the front page called "Coming Soon" or something like that. If you see an unreleased game and find it interesting, you can add it to your Wish List and you'll be notified when the game becomes available when you enter e-Shop.

The Wish List is also a good way to keep track of games you want if you don't have enough cash for them at the moment, or just aren't 100% sure about them.

Oh right one... well, taking that into consideration, are there any games I should throw onto my wish list?

You should check out these threads and add some that you find interesting:

Mutant Mudds Release Thread

Mighty Switch Force Release Thread

Sakura Samurai Release Thread

Dillon's Rolling Western Release Thread

I personally think Pushmo (or 'Pullblox' in Europe) is a must buy if you're looking for a good platforming puzzle game. User created levels are probably the best part about the game, and here's a thread with are some great levels made by other GameSpot users:

Here's a pretty detailed video review for Pushmo/Pullblox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btHRtov0ooM

On the DSiWare side of things, I think you should look into Shantae: Risky's Revenge (a great 2D action platforming game) and Spotto (a nice little physics based game about a bomb throwing duck).

Start here and there are options on the left to be selective in your search:
