Nintendo Gamer's Day - all aboard the hype train.....MUST READ!!

I love it when I'm right. It's no secret that developers have been "compensating" for the late E3 in July. Square, EA, Sega, Sony, Tecmo and Capcom have all had 'Gamer Days' to get the hype rolling for the late E3 over the course of April and May. Heck, Microsoft probably decided to release the Halo 3 Beta to get the fanboys pumped for Halo 3 footage at E3.

As soon as EA did finished their show, it got me wondering.......isn't Nintendo doing something? They must be. All of the other big developers/publishers have done something, and there was the hint from IGN that Metroid Prime 3 info is coming this month *cough*nextweek*cough*.

Pure coincidence that Matt from IGN Wii is going to Seattle next week about an event he couldn't flat out say? If it was a 3rd party event, Matt could say it who it was at the drop of a hat. But it's obvious it's all linked.

Nintendo's having a Gamer's Day people. Who KNOWS what could be there, but if Brawl's playable.......M3GAT0N, anyone?

Looks like my fears are true (sort of). They will be stuff there, but only journalists and media will have seen them. Not only that but they'll be under embargo for god-knows how long. This is a pre-E3 event after all.

I'm really hoping a confirmation if Metroid will be online or not. That and a playable Brawl - and it's a megaton.

Because it's a Gamer's Day, keep in mind:

1. Media could very well be under embargo until a certain time. It wouldn't be a long time surely, but don't be suprised if info doesn't come until next week Friday or later. Then again, we may get up-to-the-hour coverage, like in the EA event.

2. It's practically confirmed Metroid will be playable. That being said, there's little sense in only featuring 1 game playable at a hosted event. Expect more. Brand new Galaxy demo, anyone? Battalion Wars 2, perhaps? Disaster? They may not be  there but they're ALL a possibility. Remember, Nintendo wants you hyped. You are the consumer.

Yeah, I just read this over at IGN.. I'd love to see some Brawl & Corruption footage...kingsy_the_one

Definatly in one week there will be some news...offically I can say for sure that Brawl will be apart of this hopfully new details, new movie or screens and maybe a release date...one can dream but keep a close eye on the websites nice little countdown

Hey... the Brawl website is launching in 6 days. Coincidence? I think not.

And I think it's kind of sad that we're still waiting for the Megaton even after the Wii came out... I remember thinking the Megaton was imminent in the summer of 2005. :|

They really should have had the gamer's day this week, though, to compensate for the Halo 3 beta hype machine. 

If Brawl is playable it will be a megaton only if it has Wiimote support. We all know too well the standard control scheme and online isn't hard to imagine...Wintry_Flutist

Wintry, it doesn't matter if it'll use the Virtual Boy as a controller, playable Brawl is a Megaton in itself, because it's been so dry for info over the last 8 months. Oh and btw, Wiimote support is pretty much predicted, although I think the game will revolve around the GC/Classic controller. 

I just want more Disaster, hammer and BWii 2 info for now.m_machine024

I forgot about Hammer. I expect that game to be playable - mainly because it's made by one of Nintendo's in-house teams. Hopefully the game has changed and improved considerably - the game had a very generic look and feel to it.

Damn it! You got me hyped up again! I want info on Brawl, about new characters and stuff. I also want to know about Hammer and MP3, Disaster, BWii adn soem new games! I want to know how Brawl will be played, hopefully with a Wii-mote or Classic controller. Other than that, a Star Wars game!!!!!!!!  With Lightsabres and Clone Troopers and Jedi and Wiimote controls adn especially...

I know it's not a highly-hyped game but this is a confirmation Godzilla: Unleashed will make presence at the event. Unfortunately, it's appearing on the day that's embargo day.
