Nintendo's got all these great characters. Mario, Link, Samus, etc. And these are the ones who typically get the highest quality games on whatever the new nintendo system is. Now, I love all these characters, and I love all their games, and I'm not suggesting that we get rid of them, I'm just saying that maybe it's time for a new iconic character to come along. Anyone agree?

Hmmm not sure about that, having a character (or characters) helped give a console an identity and also helped increase the profile of a console during what was the early days of mass gaming. In the last few years (since the last gen anyway) I feel the industry has grown up somewhat and having a new character is not really needed in the same way as it was before. Yes, playing SSBB can make you feel all warm and fuzzy but that is simply nostalgia and perhaps the game itself would not be as enjoyable if it just contained brand new characters.

Maybe for kids this could be a good thing as they would have something to latch onto when they start their gaming lives, but for Nintendo as a whole I think they can happily continue with what they have and if they do make original games with new characters in it, hopefully they won't milk them for all their worth.

i think nintendo is just too used to tradition. i mean, they worked with that in mind for so long, and it worked out great for them untill the gamecube made the company lose alot of fans. plus with all the casual games killing the regular games out there there isnt much chance of there being a new big character on any nintendo anytime soon. unless theres a casual mascot or somethin like that

Hell yes, Captain Rainbow. Disaster guy should be cool as well. Heck, Captain Rainbow is all about the characters Nintendo made that never quite made it to superstardom. I hope its coming out here.

They have a ton of characters. They just need to use more than Mario, Samus, and Link more often. Even someone as big as Donkey Kong has been neglected.

Nintendo does have a lot of Characters.

Nintendo owns the characters for all of these games and this list is just the first game in that series.

The problem is that as new characters come, old characters fade away. That's why we now only see one Mario platformer on each console and why Pikmin, F-Zero, and Star Fox won't come for a while. I say it's fine the way it is, I just want Pikmin 3!

Captain Rainbow is the Title Character for the game Captain Rainbow and it is coming out in Japan but doubtful for other regions because Nintendo will defenately censor this in North America because [spoiler] it has a scene where you have to find something that will prove Birdo is a Girl. Wario is actually mario and luigi's cousin. You can tell it by their similarities. They just don't like themselves, that's all. And, he doesn't fight with Luigi. But, it's doubty that Waluigi is Mario's cousin, because it's doubty that he is Wario's brother. I mean, you never saw him in newest Wario's games. Waluigi looks like he is only Wario's partner in sports games. Read super mario wiki, there's some more info 'bout it.
