What are your takes on some features that should be added/removed from the DS and some new innovations you would like to see in the next ds/gameboy (i think they said no more gameboy's would be coming out but not sure....).

My take is that nintendo should keep the touch screen (dual or not wouldn't make a difference) keep wifi, add a harddrive, mp3 playback and maybe even some video playback, remove the friend code system and add some chat over wifi... Also if they could make it a tad smaller than the DS Lite it would be amazing.... I don't really like the cartridge system but i guess discs would be a little annoying for a handheld...

Just wanted to know what other ppl think on this..

If they find games that can use the dual screens, keep them. But not many games can actually use them to their potiential.

I think that...people should stop making threads about the next Nintendo handhled because the DS is in it's prime.

I dont wanna start talking bout next system cuz i just bout mine 7-10 months ago...... but i think u bout said it all..... Wifi, MP3 and vid, no FC, hard drive for music/vid, and chat over ALL WIFI GAMES!!@#$ however i wouldn't like it smaller. screens bigger can always be a plus...maybe USB port for charging so u could like put pics on it wid jump drive....

I know I'm going against most of the peole here but I don't want the touch screen anymore. I want a next gen Gameboy with Gamecube graphics and better online (leader boards for every game, NO FRIENDCODES, clans). Thats just my opinion.

Edit: I would like a big high-resoulution screen as well

DS will last for the next 3 years at least. There are much more to be developed - take a look at "Face Training", which uses a camera pluged into the GBA slot. Think about all the possibilities...

i agree. the next handheld should have joysticks, multimedia, much better graphics, and better wifi cababilities and voice chat on all games

analog sticks, keep the touch screen, Xbox graphics, better wifi and one of nintendo's "surprises"

I don't know; without the touch screen there wouldn't be my 2 favorite DS games, EBA and Ouendan2. Still with some games nintendo insisted on using the stylus just because it existed and the game suffered for it. (Kind of reminds me of the wii but this ain't the place for that!) Maybe their biggest mistake has been throwing away the tried and true stuff and trying to have the stylus (and various wands and sticks, ok sorry) do everything.

alot of you said that nintendo should remove the touch screen on their next handheld, but i don't think that's going to happen becuz nintendo thrives on backward compatibility, no other company is as good as nintendo is with it... if they remove the touch screen then all those great ds games will never be played on besides the ds....just my thoughts

Keep the dual screen, keep the touch screen, WiFi, add a hard drive to play Virtual Console games on, and add a tilt/motion sensing device (a la WarioWare for the GBA). Maybe a downloadable library of GBA games. Create a system-link with the Wii, similar to connecting the GBA to GC and incorporate into gameplay (a la Zelda Four Swords).

Make the top screen a widescreen display

Make it more ergonomic, so my wrists don't feel like they're going to break! Leave the mp3 and video playback for the ipod.
