Nintendo or one of its first party studios should by the timesplitters license.

Its a great fps that was bought by cryteck when free radical went under. The game was an awsome FPS which focused mainly on local mulitplayer just like similar games on nintendo platforms (ex SSB series). The game ALWAYS focused on gameplay. Thats not to say that it looked bad but it definately put the gameplay as a priority over graphics. The game was rated M and used adult content but not just to use it. (ie It had funny line that implied sexual themes when picking characters and other thing not people yelling cuss words because it was cool) IMO the game is very Nintendo-esk game that nintendo could turn into the FPS some people think it needs to add to its repetoire or First party games.

Meh I say no. I'm gonna be honest, If I was a fanboy of anything I'm a sony fanboy. However with that being said ninty polishes the crap out of their first party games. When i say that i want ninty to buy the license, I mean I wan the list of games that everybody says are ninty's exclusives to read Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Smash Bros, Timesplitters, Metroid, ect. Ninity would just do a better job with the game. It was originally a game made by people who previously worked on goldeneye so timesplitters would fit right in with the other exclusives. I love sony but i just don't like any of their devlopers would get it right. They might add a billion options, and a billion characters, and make great graphics, but it would never have that atmosphere that nintendo games have. I'm explaining this really really badly sorry lol

Im afraid you are explaining it really bad, because i didnt feel any 'nintendo magic' when i played the first 3 games on the ps2. Not saying ninty couldnt do a decent job.. but i rather the team that made the old games make this one.

that team has been split up though. The majority are in one of three places. 1 still at crytek with the remnants of free radical, at rare which is now owned by microsoft, or skattered around several dev having been laid off by free radical when they were about to go bankrupt at the end. But if the original team could be scrapped back together again then I would deffinately pick them over a ninty studio. The olds of that happening though are even less then the odds of ninty buying the game's licsense.

Something else that I thought of that would benifit timesplitter as a ninty first party game, is lack of cometition. On the Wii U more then likely there won't be an abundance of FPS games. A game like timesplitters would be vastly different from the modern fps games like cod, battlefield, killzone, or halo. Timesplitters would be in its own niche where it could thrive wthout being picked over for a cod or battlefield game. You might say"ohh well without competition the games will suck" but ninty does a pretty decent job of exctracting excellence from its first party devs. Mario the like face little cometition from other wii games made by third parties, and yet there are very few bad first party ninty games. So it could be a multiplat in theory but I have a feeling that It would get slaughtered just like every other small name FPs that few epeople have heard of.

Don't know about Timesplitters itself, but rather something new with the same off beat feel.

I just think there should be another in the series, doesn't really matter if Nintendo or any other 1st party purchases it. Sadly though, it probably won't happen.

Free Radical didn't go under they are still around. Crytek purchased Timesplitters when they purchased Free Radical. Free Radical is now called Crytek UK. They are supposedly making a new game for the Wii U.

Link

This says that Crytek UK have Wii U dev-kits and are impressed with it.

I knew cryteck bought the liscense and free radical, but they haven't done anything with the timesplitters franchise but let it sit and prevent anyone else from making use of a great IP. Which is why I think if cryteck won't make a timesplitters game they should sell it to someone would will.

the game they're talking abou tis probably just crysis 3. I hate all of these new FPS games. They're all so serious and obsessed with online multiplayer. I miss the good o'l day when you and a couple buddys could pop in a game, fill it up with a ridiculous amount of bots and weapons and good crazy.

I think this could be a good idea. Just think they could change most of the original timesplitters characters to Nintendo characters. Mario, Link, Koopa and toads running around shooting eachother. This could be Nintendo's own fps franchise.

I think it could do well as "Nintendo's FPS" too. Better than not having any TS at all. But putting Mario and co. in it would be absolutely terrible.

I'd love to see another TimeSplitters, but the last publisher I'd want to see pick it up is Nintendo, as they have no experience with the genre.

They weren't first party. And how long has it been since Perfect Dark was released? 12 years?

What about Geist? Nintendo was the publisher and Miyamoto was the Producer. n-Space developed it but Nintendo had a lot of involvement in it.

The only problem with it was the Engine and the controls; It was using Metroid Prime's controls instead of using the controls that other FPSs used.

That was from 2005. Nintendo also Published Goldeneye (15 years ago) and Perfect Dark (12 years ago)

I hated Geist, and it doesn't inspire much confidence, and even then, 3 games in 15 years, two of which they had little direct involvement in, just isn't much. But I can admit when I'm wrong so; they have very little experience with the genre. I'd prefer to see an experienced FPS publisher/developer take on the franchise, Crytek already owns it, why not them?

I totally agree with the OP. It reminds me a lot of goldeneye, and could take its long empty spot that goldeneye left.

they make good pc games but Sh*tty console game IMO. crysis 1 on pc was awesome I barrowed Crysis I for ps3 from a buddy sucks! Crysis II was too CODish I'm afraid they would make TS a mainstream FPS
