Nintendo REALLY doesn't seem to want to sell me some Wii points today.

I keep trying to order wii points via my credit card. All three times I've tried, I've recieved the same error code: "The servers are experiencing difficulty and cannot currently validate your card information. Please wait a few hours and try again." or something along those lines. Anybody else experience this? Anything I should know?

Sounds like nintendo just hates you. Sorry. Try using another card. Maybe the one your using isn't one they accept. Or have you used that one before? Sorry thats never happened to me before.

I've experienced the same problem before trying to buy Wii-points with my credit card. If you have the patience, just wait and try tomorrow.

Nintendo is years behind where it should be with anything to do with on-line (atleast that's how I feel).

On the topic of frustration with Nintendo,

Have you seen the Nintendo channels how-to video? Watch it. That video proved to me that Nintendo thinks it's customers are completely brainless.

Also who cares if Liv Taylor plays Brain Age 2? I buy my games based on my own interests. Not what celebrities happen to be playing themselves...

chefstubbies

A lot of people.

Probably the same people who care enough to read tabloid magazines (And, God forbid, believe they're real).

Yeah...a lot of people...

The fact that Nintendo is flaunting a couple of celebrities in that way shows that they feel that it's consumers (you as well bob_newman) are all stupid easily impressionable children and will buy Nintendogs if you hear that Carrie Underwood is playing it.

No, they know that there is a divide. They're not that dumb.

Perhaps Nintendo has so much money, they don't want any more.

Elaborate please. You say they're not that dumb...meaning they're not dumb enough to claim Carrie Underwood is playing Nintendogs? They already have, and that is a marketing stance. A marketing stance I personally am offended by.

Obviously advertising celebrities playing Nintendogs will appeal to some easily manipulated people judging by your response, but for me...I buy games based on quality. Not cheap marketing.

No, they're not dumb enough to think that every Wii owner (or DS owner) is a "casual". Obviously when games like Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, and Resident Evil 4 can sell over a million copies, it means that there is a more "hardcore" audience out there.

"There is a divide" means that there are (at least) 2 types of gamers: ones who care about celebrities playing games, and ones who don't.

Okay, I get what you're saying now.

Thank you for clarifying.

How about you give me your credit card information, and I'll tell you if something is wrong with it. ;)
