Neopets... but these are even worse-looking than neopets! :?
It's cute but too childish for me.

I suspect this is an opinion that you will circle back on and reverse when you get older. As a kid it is very common to be drawn to things you find "more adult" and reject things that you feel are "kiddy/childish" (colorful, non-violent etc). This was especially true for me when I was in my teens.
But, once you mature a bit, and become more confindent in your self-identity, you might come to find you really enjoy more cartoonish/kiddy things just out of the pure joy of it, and don't care what the general population thinks of your choices and what they say about you.
I think a lot of kids avoid some of this stuff because of peer pressure. Peer pressure exists less and less as you go through life, and you start to care less and less of what other people think of you.
Have you actually played the game, or is this opinion based on the appearance. Most of the reviews of this game are very positive and I'm going to check it out. Maybe when I'm in my 40's I will think this game is too childish, but it seems just right for someone in their 30's!
My mind is in 10 days more in terms of nintendo games.Rod90
Im sorry but I dont get what you mean by that?
-checking out various forums leads me to believe people are really enjoying this one. but judge a book by its cover, that works too.
glimpus
I judged it by the cover and I think it looks pretty fun.

You didn't get it? ... In 10 (now 9 days) I'll be playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Your reply makes sense. The first thing you said... complete gibberish. It's nice to see that people still judge books by their covers, or games by their appearance in this case.
Like some others have said it's like a mix of Little Big Planet, Spore and Drawn to Life. And from what I've played it's fun, but from what I've seen... it's amazing once you unlock all the parts. (there are over 500 parts)
Here is a video with a Japanese user showing the characters they've made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhofe-TvYls
And here are some QR Codes from other users:

You may be a bit sensitive today.
It was just a joke.
Downloaded this game last night, it is great! you can really get creative with it, and it seems like a lot of content for the price.
very odd little game, I'm really digging it!

Apologies for double post. Comp problems. But yeah, i'm 25 and i'm just not interested in this.I'm willing to bet that the word 'childish' hit a nerve with you, especially considering your age (and here I give you the courtesy of assuming you are indeed in your 30s). So the idea that somebody would call something that you might like 'childish' didn't go over so well. But let me make this clear: I am in no way saying that you, or anyone else of any age group, is childish for liking this game. I'm merely saying it is too childish for me, and that's my opinion. It's the same way when people give me flack online and off for continuing to enjoy 'kid' games like Mario (and I only say kid because that's usually the word I hear when people can't believe I still play Nintendo at my age).
I'm a college student. I work and my money is limited, so unfortunately I have to take the low road sometimes and judge a book by its cover to save money. In this case it's a game. Again, I think freaky forms is a cute game. I like that it's colorful and allows you to bring the creations from your imagination to life, but it's not for me. I don't want to create adorable pixel monsters and trade with friends. My 8-year-old cousin does, but I don't. I want to jump over piranha plants and create rivalries on race tracks. And that's what I'm holding on to my little money for. It's like someone in this thread said: You don't have to buy everything Nintendo makes, and this is something I just don't want. But I hope everyone else likes it. And who knows. Maybe one day I might come back to it and give it a try.
It's cute, but I won't squander my dime on it because:
1. It reminds me of Happy Tree Friends.
2. Some idiot will make Happy Tree Friends in it.
3. The whole thing is so cute, it seems like a sugar rush.
5. Have you noticed that there are only 3 points?
10. Do you have difficulty counting? :P

The trailer made my ears bleed. What horrible music. And I guess it looks cool but I pass.
glimpus

It doesn't need to sound off and messy at times to be weird.
