Pokemon Snap

I really like what they did with the VC version, allowing you to mail pictures to your Wii friend list.

With updated visuals this game could be much more exciting. Imagine a game that could have Pokemon and environments that look much better than Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Image 22

Along with that the new IR control allows for so many more possibilities.

Online interactivity could include a whole load of user generated content and sharing.

People seem so crazy to throw rail shooters on Wii, this is a rail shooter that is unique and transcends the limitations of the genre.

Well on the rail shooters haven't been too great in this generation. The wii only has umbrella chronicles and that other res that I can't remember and thats it. The ps3 got Time Crisis which was a major flop and wasn't well received by the critics either. I don't think that at this moment Nintendo are prioritising on the rail shooters, what with zelda 2 and super mario galaxy 2 to be coming soon...

Not nearly as bad as the saturation of FPS on other systems. However it takes much less rail shooters for it to get really old, really fast.

Pokemon Snap is unlike any on rail shooter you have played though, other than future adaptations like Afrika. Pokemon Snap made it very fun and interesting to take these photos. It was way more compelling to play the same levels over again, then in a game like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

*In before "Dear Nintendo" references...or not*

You know, when I put some thought into this idea, I think a Pokemon Snap revival on the Wii really could be a great move. I think the game could support a number of system tools that could really help the experience, like SD card support and perhaps a new channel for new challenges in a Mario Kart Wii-like fashion to keep the game fresh.

I think it's possible to make the argument that Pokemon Snap was a "guided first person experience" long before EA and Visceral decided to coin the term for Dead Space Extraction, and it was a game that obviously had appeal for younger and less experienced gamers, but provided just enough of a punch from a challenge perspective to keep more experienced gamers aiming for higher scores and the most unique pictures possible. I think a Wii installment would do well to expand on the concept. :)

Thats what came to my mind. I looked at Wii's set of features and so many of them would compliment Pokemon Snap's gameplay perfectly.

But now after reading it, "YES!!!"

I thought you were going to say Duck Hunt but yes I think the game would be awesome. Also, if they opened those print stations like they used to have at Blockbuster

A new Pokemon Snap would be awesome. I remember when Blockbuster used to have the Pokemon Snap arcade booth. And the Wii would be the perfect platform for such a game, they are pretty much the beholder of rail shooters right now.

The thing is I only moderately liked Pokemon Snap when it first came out. Back then I was a bit dissappointed that there was no full on console iteration of the Pokemon handheld games. A bit later in the console cycle of the N64 I went back to the game and was much more impressed on second impressions.

Its a simple game, its perfect for Wii in every way.

Don't worry about it, I was only kidding. Its just that every few months a topic pops up about how Nintendo should bring back Pokemon Snap. Thats why you see people making post like "Inb4 Less Track More Safari" Because people always say that in response lol. But I would probably agree with them, if there was another one, i would like to see more of a free roaming ecosystem than an on rails experience.

The idea of making it free roam changes the game quite a lot. If it was not on tracks and you moved around a character it would allow loads more gameplay. Like stealth to hide from the Pokemon while you are taking its picture. Of course I doubt Nintendo would do this, thoughI do see them making another Pokemon Snap down the road.

I would love that, but I would much prefer it to be free roaming. Like the intro from the original looked awesome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UzggV3l9FI

walking through lush forests would just be great in my opinion.

they could use the vitality sensor, M+, and the pointer with this game. Could you imagine having a stampeed of pokemon chasing the vehicle? Vitality could make great use of adrenaline rushes

I would love a new Pokemon Snap, what would be cool is if it had the traditional Rail Cart, but also have Walking areas, Hot Air Balloons, Boat rides, maybe even a submarine or scuba diving as long as all 493 Pokemon are in it i'll be happy as that should be a great challange.

Yes but with crazy environments like volcanoes and where ever Mew took you near the end of Pokemon Snap. Collecting photo and data and it would also be interesting if the Pokemon were sometimes an actual threat to you.
