they way i see it the nintendo friend code policy is way to uptight. i believe if nintendo has the gonads to send an update out to all the wii's to make it so that people (adultsĀ and children) can play online together with no friend codes. except-- parents would get mad at the fact that they took friend codes off sooooo... i came to a conclusion! we don't need friend codes to play online together but i guess we (when i say we i mean me) could compromise and say "we can have friend codes to keep online friends, but we don't need them to play online together." and thats how nintendo should'ive invisoned friend codes.

I enjoy friend codes. Have you played Halo 2 on Xbox Live lately? All that seem to play are trash-talking teenagers. I would like a more civilized online experience.

I'd rather put up with the riff raff or simply mute the fools than settle for friend codes. Look at Mario Striker's too, the only way to play foreign players is with their code, thats awful. Don't tell me its for optimised speed the system is supposed to use dedicated servers.

How about no?

Friend code are great, in fact they should be even more Strict, like each game sesson has its own Wii number, so to the all the Prevs. away from my kids.

Yo suck.Ā

well id like to be able to play against more than just friends, because only 2 of them have wiis, and they dont always play online exactly when i want to. so i think there could be other solutions, such as mutes, or simply blocking people that are annoying/weird

You dont NEED friend codes to play Strikers. If you dont have the code you will be entered into a random match. Not a big deal. The only downside is, if its like MarioKart DS, you cant see the record of your opponent until the game starts. Frakking snakers.

Yeah I'm still happy enough that I'll be restricted to europe for pick up and play matches, I'm just glad for a good online game on Wii finally. But more accesible regions means more players and competition. Also once the game starts getting old fewer people will be bothered to jump in, so you need those players from far and wide to keep the game alive.

Ahh, yes I see. Well anyway me it's like take it or leave it. Sure you gotta do a little more work but other than that it doesn't change online all that much. As for region locking online thats a whole other thread in it's own. Anyway theres my opinion.

That's how it already works for the DS. You go to Wifi, then you choose "Random" or "Friend." "Random" pairs you up with people you don't know, "Friend" pairs you up with friends. Friend codes are usually not mandatory.

Ā I expect this will apply to the Wii as well.

I don't think any offence is intended but teens in the 12-16 range are the main culprits of abuse, cheating and bad sportsmanship. Not that they're all like it by any means though, I got a lot of cool kids on my friends list that are good team mates.

There's some bad eggs, its inevitable that Wii games will have a similar problem sooner or later even with friend codes. Thats just people for you.

Funny, whenever i play an online game (any system) it's always an adult who's being immature.Ā  I've never played Halo 2 online though.Ā
