What I mean is that people have been using Action Replay to cheat online and irritate other players, and ruining the competitive experience. If Nintendo removed the online capbility of Action Replay, that would really help. That, or they should release a patch that does that. Do you guys agree?

It shouldn't be allowed at all let alone limited. It's just cheating.

That would be awesome. I hate getting screwed over by hackers. I couldn't agree more with you.

Who cares if someone cheats on their own games when playing alone? Some people want to screw around, other ppl just want to get past hard parts.

Personally, I don't think Action Replay should even exist. Since that's not happening anytime soon, I would love for Nintendo to somehow limit the use of it in online games. People that use it to cheat online just completely ruin the experience and I pretty much only play single player games or local multiplayer now.

I really don't think it's the action replay itself because I tried doing that on mario kart once just for the fun of it with the basic cheats but they didn't work. So do people like modify cheats so they can be used online or something? I wouldn't really know because I like never do anything online competitively with the DS because people either cheat or disconnect (which doesn't count as a win for you)

well the problem is nintendo cant stop hacking/cheating cause action replay can keep on updating itself and bypass the hack detectors in the game, while they have no way to update there games although if they could limit hacking it should only be for online play

if nintendo could, they would have, but for everything they come up with, there area bunch of hackers working against it and shortly, they are going at it again, so it would be amazing, but unlikely

Nintendo doesn't make the AR. They can only block it via DSi software update.

Agreed, even something like a kick system would be fine.

I believe it would be more on the publisher's side, but I dunno. I don't really see the DS as a online multiplayer platform. It just doesn't fit to me, and probably because I only play fighters and shooters online. The DS just can't give me that experience. But I feel for anyone who does play online. CoD4 on the PS3 was ludicrous. GameShark was useful back in the early GBC days, but I don't really see the point in ARs due to the seemingly competitive, growing community. Seeing as I'm guessing this is mostly about Pokemon, as half the topics here are.

Limit it? It should be banned outright. Cheat devices are the very reason why I don't play online.

Kind of wrong there. Standard team for PBR is Arceus, Arceus, Arceus, Darkrai, Darkrai, *favorite pokemon here*. Gets really annoying. They do have some hack checks, but they do need to be better. Problem is it's probably pretty hard to keep updating the software every time a new AR is released.

I think you mean that Nintendo should raise their efforts to keep the AR from working on online, right? Hackers were one of the reasons that i sold my metroid prime card.

i hate it when ppl hack on mario kart. That's why i bought an AR just incase. If someone keeps winning by hacking, i use the "win on first lap" cheat to get the

race over with, then i quit the race.

I wish they could do this (a patch is a great idea), but I bet my socks there's some sort of legal web restraining them from doing so. I would think the perfect solution would be to release a patch that blocks cheaters from gaming online, doesn't allow them to be paired up with non-cheaters, or doesn't read the cart (similar to what they did with the unspeakable). It would be complicated, but Nintendo could do it if they set their heats into it.

I wish this would work, but Action Replay, being a corporate business, would probably go the unspeakable's way and release a firmware to combat Nintendo's. I mean, if Nintendo did release a firmware that blocked a use of their product, they would lose money. No one likes losing money.
