Nintendo Wii Hunting

so this past weekend i went on somewhat of an adventure. i went to my local gamestop, bought ssbb but they didnt have any Wii's in stock. so a guy that worked there phoned 2 of the other gamestops around the area; no Wii's. went to Circuit City: no Wii's. got online, yup you guessed it; no Wii's ANYWHERE!! (Kmart, wal-mart, toys r us, target, eb games, gamestop, best buy, circuit city, etc.) the only places i have found an available Wii is on Craigslist and eBay (dont really want to buy a Wii this way). just so you know, i just want a Wii!! no bundle crap.

so my question to you is... was it hard to find a Wii for you? where did you get your Wii? any tips on how to be the first to get one when they are in stock? anything else?

thanks. all i have is ssbb and ive read the manual 3 times trying to learn the controls and trying to decide on which character is best for me.

I got my first one at walmart in a lucky break (wasn't even looking and PA system said 3 Wii's are in :) )

I am currently waiting for a replacement Wii I bought off toys are use with SSBB for 300 bucks.

the reason for the new one is that our house was struck by lightning and the Wii got fried.

actually i was lucky enough to get mines at launch.but i almost missed it,bcuz there are two gamestops close by... they're actually across the street from each other(go figure).i i had all my games pre ordered b4 it launched and when i went to pre order the console there was a huge line outside.i was like OMG! i was note expecting that because i dont live in a big city(although its the 3rd fastest growing city in the U.S).so i went across the street and got in line.and i ended up getting the last wii! BUT in actuality i wouldnt have gotten one,but one person ahead got tired of waiting in line... so LUCKY ME.

BTW my silly cousin bought his throug e-bay and paid all that money.which was so BOGUS

Buy a Sunday paper early Sunday morning. Check all the ads for wiis. Then, if you see one, go to that store as soon as it opens. That should get you one. It just takes patience.Katafran

There is a section where you can see the Sunday ads for Circuit City, Best Buy and Target (I think) a week in advance. The guy who posts it even points out which stores are advertising Wiis. Find out which store has them in stock the coming Sunday, show up when they open and walk away with your Wii.

It's a beautiful thing.
