The virtual Console was designed to make "classic games easily accessible", the Wii Channel system was designed to make the console interface "easy to use and easily accessible for non gamers"

-Quotes from Nintendo themselves and are found in Wii.com, they were also to be found in most articles based on detailing the Wii functionality before launch of the console coming from senior execs like Laurent Fischer,- it's all complete BS and has been from the start.

I have been gaming since the early 80s so when the prospect of playing the games I once loved came up I embraced it fully, both as a fan of the games and a collector of classics. When I read some of the above I thought wow, finally this is something that really appeals to me.The image I had conjured in my mind was that the Wii would play like a videogame jukebox for me, where I could have friends over and introduce them to great classic games with ease while keeping my old console collection under wrap. I have a lot of VC games, 59 in fact, I have been buying games on VC consistently since launch all the while knowing that sooner or later things were going to come to a head and I was going to be a furious as I am now. I am now sick to death of the constant data juggle and having a weak piece of **** that cannot even capacitate the 44 channel spaces it has on screen. I am also sick to death of what having a full memory does to my Wii also, it feels like a cripple piece of crap when rebooting onto pages and takes absolute age in a blank screen which is good ample time to ponder how crap the Wii is. It's a complete _______ joke of a console when in this state. I am a Nintendo fan to very the core yet I myself am not blinded and am fully aware more than most that Nintendo have ultimately released a shoddy console at high cost without sufficient memory capacity to even fulfill it's core console aims. I don not give a ____ about the Wii graphical ability, I could not care less, anyone who bought a Wii thinking it would had equal ability as the others is a fool, what I want now and what I realize and see as essential is a HD, and there can be NO excuse for the Wii not having one.

I have 50 games on SD, more than 50 actually, and all those games are games I love in some way and want readily available at all times both for myself and all those that live with me, I do not want to constantly go through a lame very slow process of having to move data on and off my Wii constantly, just in order to load up a game. Downloading games off the SC is even worse, it has now become a case of not clicking on the SC but now going into Settings straight away and ripping games of my interface in order to save time. I had to delete a lot of games in order to download Lost Winds recently, I friend of mine wondered what the hell I was doing so I explained to him in full the cause of my woes, he laughed and said Nintendo are ****. He is completely right. Nintendo fans have gotten far to use to this sort of crap and it's really high time that things change. I really cannot put up with this, I am even contemplating buying a second Wii eventually (Black when it's released *blog*), but even then that will provide no solution as all these games are locked to that console. There HAS to be a solution to this soon from Nintendo, it angers me GREATLY when I hear the crap that Iwata and Laurent Fischer have come out with recently, my blood boils just as it does when I am doing the data juggle.

I acknowledge I am not the typical Wii owner but I am a example of a near future one and I can tell you from experience that when your Wii is in my state the whole Wii experience is a dire one, a truly dire one.

The fact of the matter is as a avid player of the classic games I am being punished for my love of games I have on my Wii

Lost Winds

... and counting

With yet more Neo Geo titles due that I am destined to get as well as many others on the other platfrorms and Wii Ware I know my experience of Wii will get even worse, if that's possible. It's shocking that I own enough games to fill all four of my screens with ease yet I currently only have a handfull. it wreaks of a lack of forsight when you see those 44 Channel spaces empty. When I have friends over now they ask me where all my games are,and I tell them in full, they reply with a perfectly logical comment, Nintendo are _______

The fun is evaporating.

Yes I agree with you. I'm not a constant VC buyer, but Nintendo should have come with a HD to support their back library by now, and there's no excuse for ignoring it.

So the Wii is lame because it has very low memory? Ok. Whatever you say. Btw take that lame post of yours to System Wars next time.

Yes it is a problem but putting the whole system down for that?

I haven't downloaded a single VC game yet, for various reasons, and one of them is the fact the Wii can't store enough data. I mean: 512MB flash memory is ridiculous, considering you have to fit save games in there too.

I'm a Nintendo fan just like you (hell, look at my profile banner), I'm satisfied with my Wii (although I think it should cost half its retail price), but as of late I feel they lost their proverbial consideration for the customers (Nintendo Europe and its constant delays, worldwide bad distribution of games/consoles, ignoring the continuous requests for an external memory expansion...). My idea is that, sadly, after Hiroshi Yamauchi left his role at Nintendo in 2002 the company went downhill. The golden age is over.

Getting back on topic...

I would definitely have to agree that there is a large space issue for the Wii. That could potentially be adressed later down the road *shrugs* who knows. I am not an avid collector of VC games due to the fact that most of the games they are putting out are either garbage or I didnt have much fun with. Space is not my issue but rather the selection. Unfortunately, I know that is not entirely up to Nintendo. Nintendo has to wait for the third party companies that created the games in the first place to recode them to be placed on the VC. That means they have to seak those that have full rights to games. Companies like Rare Lmt. are under different management or circumstances that dont exactly allow for some or all the games they created to be allowed onto the VC.

I know there is more to it that I am not describing. Space for me is not an issue but it IS a problem. Selection is my problem. The Wii itself I love. Just got Wii fit and have already used it to loose a little weight.

To be honest I don't understand the whole "I have 50 VC games that I want to play all at the same time argument", why don't you just be selective, just pick the ones you feel in the mood for and keep those on the channel then when you wanna swap for another just delete it or move to SD card. Sure it's annoying and yes Nintendo should release an add on, but to say the entire system is lame because of that is kind of unfair. I mean can you really be plying 3 different version of SF2 at the same time? Me thinks not.
