I just don't buy it. There hasn't been one instance where some kid was molested and/or killed by someone he met on Xbox Live. So what's wrong with usernames? Is Nintendo just trying to get in with stupid, overprotective parents, or are they just being annoying for the sake of it?

While I've never heared anything major serious about Xbox Live, I read a couple of days ago on Kotaku that some kid was shown porn over Xbox Live Vision. So you've got to understand where Nintendo is coming from, but they are being stupidly over protective.

I think it is stupid because on Nintendo Wi-Fi you don't have almost any options to communicate with other people so how can a kid be offended during a match.

ya the options are,

use the fc for all the features of vs mode or

dont use them and get stuck with basic 2 min brawl's!

I enjoy them

They give more of an adult experience rather then dumping us all in one pool like we're a bunch of children in junior high.

i meet some of my best freinds in junior high and were still freinds today in college!

thanks to freind codes i cant make any new freinds on nwfc because when i play someone new online i have NO option to add them or even interact with them!

their more like AntiFreinds codes!

I like friend codes. It's not much more of a hassle than adding someone's xbl or psn ID.

2 people or more are wrong on this post because

A nintendo doesnt want

trash talk i dont either

or people threatning to blow up their schools(refering to an xbox live incident on cod 4 some one threatned to blow up their school ms had to waste their time and money to investigate that and the person was arested so i dont know where you get off saying xbox live hasnt had any incidents and hazbazz is right people do use live visi o n for porn some one was actually aressted for doing so , also some one got aressted not to long ago for stalking some one whom he met on xbox live

c they are doing the right thing because of these issues

i sure as heck do not want to hear kids argue on some mic or typing it in to annoy people ,

and destroying the fun expeirence we would be having at the time thanks for making another system war thread ,, because you know what im sick of these threads in the wii forum im hoping a lock goes in place

I get the FC argument, I really do, but FOR CHRIST SAKE....why cant we have assigned codes for games per publisher????

Ex. If game X, Y and Z is all published by the big N (Mario Strikers, SSBB and MKWii), they should all assign the SAME DAMN FC!!!!!

Is that askin too much Nintendo? Please!!!!?

my only problem with Friend Codes is taht they are per game, NOT universal. The Hour of Cumulative time I've spent typing in Brawl Friend Codes I'm just gonna have to do again once Mario Kart comes out.

However that is much better than being called names and words by an eight year old that doesn't even know what those names and words mean...

But cant they at least have some sort of query installed in games to recognize a friend code assigned to your wii and just roll with that? I mean it's get mighty tiresome having to to RE-TYPE all my buddies FCs everytime a new game drops that I wanna play online with my buddies. Jesus, the Dreamcast had a better matchmaking system than what we have on the Wii right now.

thats very un-true

adding a freind code is alot harder than adding a xbl gamertag,

with xbl you can just click on the persons name while your playing them and then send them a freind request and if they accept your done!

with fc you cant even add someone when you meet them online in the game! you actually have to talk to them outside of the online mode via cpu, phone, or in person to exchange fc and add each other!

soon 3rd party dev will start trashing the fc (EA) when they get more freedom with pay-to-play and then only nintedno will be the only game developer in the world still using the garabage fc system.

Thats not true either.

If you are in a match with a friend, and they have a friend in the same match that is not on your lit you have the option of adding them by just clicking their name. But they do have to be a friend of a friend. I've added several people this way.

Well, that is true, I've done it myself in Animal Crossing DS. The point the original poster is trying to make is still valid as it is still less easy than adding someone over XBL, and adding a freind of a friend is NOT Matchmaking, which is what Ithink the original poster is talking about.

im not talking about playing with freinds! in all the wii games online ive played i have never been able to jump into a random match, meet someone skilled i like, and add them as a freind!

so NO the wii does not give you the option of adding ppl you randomly play as freinds, even though that is one of the whole points of online play! to meet new ppl and become freinds, in xbl i have over 150 freinds thanks to be able to meet and interact with new ppl and add them insantly!
