first my letter of concern....

"Hi my name is Jeremy and ive been a fan of nintendo for a long time. I was just wondering why support for the Virtual Console has pretty much slowed down to almost nonexistance. The gamers that i associate with and communicate with online have really noticed the lack of support on the VC and we're concerned that support is going to cease altogether. Can you PLEASE ease my mind and tell me that we will still continue to get games in the future and we're probably jut experiencing a drought."

next, Nintendo's reply...

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting nintendo. I'm happy to address your concerns regarding Wii's Virtual Console service.

Each week we make available a mix of Virtual Console, WiiWare, and DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but i can assure you that many more Virtual Console, WiiWare, and Nintendo DSiWare games are on the way.

I can also assure you that your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate departments for further review and will be added to the geedback record for the Virtual Console service. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

Sincerely,

Kurt Wagner

Nintendo of America Inc."

what do you guys think....

I think that you should have mentioned 3DS Virtual Console Support >.>

But really, I think they have most of the classics on the VC so I have no complaints

Ugh, why do people bother posting this here?

Look, they give everyone the same basic response, always leaving it vague enough for you to come to your own conclusions.

We know what's happening with the VC, third parties don't give a **** about it and nintendo can't release all their games at the same time

You: Hey, Nintendo, we don't get any VC games. Sup?
Nintendo: There will be more in the future.

Wow. Helpful.

Apple should take some pointers from this response when it comes to customers concerns. Nintendo, I love you.

it never ceases to amaze me on how people people that nintendo has the rights to release every old game made, we have nearly every nintendo game made they only have rights to put on games they made or published, every 3rd party game they have no say if it gets made truthfully said that world wide VC is dieing because companies are realizing that they make more money off wiiware/dsiware, or retail people are not buying VC games enough for companies to want to make them

That is the way it is. Companies claim that they will support something and then they get rid of it because the new software takes off. The DSi and The 3DS don't play GBA games anymore. Backwards compatability is becoming a thing of the past no matter if it's done from downloads or hardware.

A lot of the cool N64 games were made by Rare and now they work for microsoft. It's funny that back when Wii first came out they supported the VC all the time but now they barely do anything.

Pretty much, all that said was, "We are going to continue to do the same thing for the foreseeable future. Stop bothering us."

oh and this

it never ceases to amaze me on how people people that nintendo has the rights to release every old game made, we have nearly every nintendo game made they only have rights to put on games they made or published, every 3rd party game they have no say if it gets made truthfully said that world wide VC is dieing because companies are realizing that they make more money off wiiware/dsiware, or retail people are not buying VC games enough for companies to want to make themelbert_b_23

Nintendo cant release whatever they want, they have release a lot of their games minus a few standouts. But when it comes to the 3rd party, they need permission and like elbert said, 3rd parties have other avenues to make more money on the digital front; like DLC abuse on the HD consoles, apps and Wii Ware, PSN and XBL games. Like I said in other topics with people complaining about this, do you think its easy to market a 15yr old game? Sales for most VC games are very very likely to be extremely low.

I can too, and I don't even work for Nintendo. But I cannot assure you that more Virtual Console games are on the way any time soon. Hell, it could be 50 DSiWare games before the next Super Nintendo or Nintendo 64 game is released on the Virtual Console.

I think everybody who loves some Nintendo is craving for DK 64 and I wish Mario Tennis had the 2 unlockable characters with the GBC game connection, surly Nintendo could Address that.

ooooh and maybe some specials every now and again or somthing. IMO atleast.

I'm mostly craving for games that will never be released due to licensing issues. Such as, Conker, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie and Perfect Dark. Yeah, all of them are Rare games.

Some of the games I want to see have absolutely no chance of ever coming out, like Chip n Dale, Ducktales and Darkwing Duck for the NES. And Aladdin for the SNES.

I know, Playing Rareware games on the Xbox is just weird. They have such a Nintendo-esque feel.
