1) It would be great if nintendo can release a "Wii-mote 2.0" with a mic installed to the remote! Wouldn't that be great!!!???

2) "Wii-Mote 2.0" with TWO, yes TWO! nunchuck slots, but one can be used for a mic! Wouldn't that be freakin UNBELIEVEABLE!!!???

both ideas are terrible. the wiimote is a motion sensitive controller. mind explaining how you plan on talking AND playing?

So we're supposed to buy 4 more upgraded Wiimotes for $40 or more? I've already bought 4 and if I wanted to have 4 people have voice chat I would have to go out, buy 4 new Wiimotes and then mics (if they weren't included with the Wiimote). That would be $160+ because I doubt that it would be the same price as the 1.0 Wiimote. If the mic was included it definitely would be more expensive, but if it wasn't then you'd have to buy it separately and it would still cost money.

Ok, here's a much more practical solution:

Have the headset plug into the remote (like the nunchuck), and a slot for the nunchuck on the left side of its (slightly larger) connector. Or you just have wireless one.

But the real problem is Nintendo's paranoia with people actually 'communicating' with each other.

BTW, I don't think you should be worried about anyone copying your ideas :P

I don't like to talk to people I don't know during online matches anyways, so awkward, and I always end up getting either someone completely out of their mind, some kid who hasn't sprouted pubes and has the voice of a little girl, or some douchebag fratboy who likes to cuss every two seconds and use racial slurs, no thanks, I'm happy with silence.IronManRhino

Exactly, and anybody who has every played a 360 with a headset will realize that no voice chat is a good thing. Chatting between friends is decent, but with random people, no thank you.

solution one: just give it wireless headset connectivity. this would be an easy and practical patch that would give rise to some very simple voice chat.

solution two: just make a damn headset for the wii, nintendo.

I'm glad you put TACOS in there because "Tacos Rule" and none of the other options were reasonable.

2) Not buying new Wii-Motes and a Mic.

The problem isn't Nintendo cant develope a mic, it's they dont want little 8 year olds talking to older kids... Or ppl to reveal personal info.

I do have four Wii motes but that's besides the point. No one wants to waste money buying an upgraded peripheral to replace the ones they already have and will leave their old ones obsolete.
