I agree that Nintendo's press conference would be highly disappointing, if it weren't for this line: "He thanks the audience for attending, and says they'll feel that next big thing in Nintendo's games over the next few days of the show."

I don't think Nintendo is done revealing secrets. They've probably got their biggest ones yet stashed away for the rest of E3. Remember last year?

Also, think of it this way (this is purely speculation): why would Nintendo not wait for Sony to reveal their big guns, and then show off their own surprise? If I were Nintendo, I would pull my last stunt after Sony is done, thus stealing their limelight. They revealed something right before Microsoft, so why not mess with Sony?

I'm just saying, don't count Nintendo out yet.

Who is Reggie refering to when he said that? I don't really remember that line.

I think there probably are some more secrets Nintendo has, i won't give up hope till the end of the week.

Sorry about the confusion, but that's what the Gamespot on-site blogger wrote about Reggie. He didn't quote Reggie directly, but summarized what he said to the audience.

Correct, when Geoff from GT interviewed Reggie at the Nintendo press conference, Reggie said that there would be a 1st party titled to be revealed at E3. The show is not over. There are still 2 more direct interviews. Animal Crossing and Wii Music were already confirmed. No other 1st party titles were revealed, and Iwata said that Nintendo was hard at work even right now to bring you suprises. IMO, it's pikmin 3 or the next Legend of Zelda.

Don't get peoples hope up too much. You're right, though, E3 is not over and Nintendo has announced or shown things days AFTER their conference (Smash Bros. Brawl comes to mind), but doesn't mean anything WILL happen. Keep your expectation low and if something does happen then it'll be all the better.

I agree, if you remember E3 06, we got Brawl news during day 2.

On G4 when asked about hardcore games, Reggie replied with something along the lines of "our Mario and Zelda crews are working" so, they may not confirm it at E3, but it will be there eventually

There were plenty of surprises last September, just look it up. Reggie delivers when he talks, remember surprisess doesn't mean it will be what YOU want. Nintendo always plan their stuff, this conference wasn't a mistake, it's an other step in their strategy. Also, thid parties are included in their plans, there's plenty of games coming from them. Nintendo know what they are doin, just wait and see.

I'm genuinely hoping that those TBA slots on the IGN upcoming stuff calender are for Nintendo or games for the Wii. If they did show like a new Zelda, or a Kirby or anything big, it'd be amazing. Think about it. Everyone at the moment is cursing Nintendo, so angry, in fact most people agree all the keynotes sucked. Then just as everyone is angry they go BAM and announce something, it'd make the announcement seem even bigger. I do hope that's what they are doing...otherwise I don't know what to say.

i agree with you but what i ment was not to hype or take anything he says too literal cause its not always what it seems to be. but as we all know alot of people here in GS like to dream alittle to hard. so basicly i ment to say the same thing you said.

I don't wan't to get your hopes up but, is this really all Nintenodo has to show for the remainder of the year? I felt that MS press conference was more on the attacking side and Nintendo just played defense like E3 '05. I'm not willing to put money on it, but I think that Nintendo has something up their sleeve.

So, all we can do is wait it out. E3 aint over. You know, if the audience is same as last time this is all very logical. Then the conference wasn't for us at all, but for the reporters of the household mags and the Times. I still don't know whether that's the case.

Notice GTA at the end? And the Madworld stuff they didn't even mention? There were so many things they didn't show or mention there. If anything i ended up with more questions than answers.
So i think they used the conference to show off their success (investors) and introducing the casuals to a little more sophisticated gaming, and use the showfloor to give us information about the upcoming titles and how the motionplus (and wiispeak?) actually works.

I'm not counting on some big surprises but i think the days after are our days, the conference was not. Get used to it.

I don't think anymore secrets are really going to be revealed at E3. They could be, but I just feel that's all they are showcasing now.

However, I do wonder whether the other games he didn't "have time to mention" are all new, unannounced titles. Then, there is also the lingering debate over what the two new games are that the company behind the Mario and Zelda games are making is. Just a new Mario (please don't let it be another Galaxy) and Zelda, or maybe a new IP?
