Are there any hardcore games on the Wii? (besides any laucnh titles like Zelda!) I mean im scared that my Wii will turn out useless. There are only games like wario ware, marble mania, and tomgathic coming out! Are there any hardcore games coming? Besides the metroid, mario galaxy, and Brawl...
Well, we can never know for sure just yet, but I'm sure there'll be some great RPG's to be released (more than just Fire Emblem), as well as continuations of Star Fox and Donkey Kong. I'm also sure there'll be more surprises down the line for all the Wii gamers as well, we can only wait and hope. There's so much potential for the Wii as well as the Wiimote, even from an early prospect, so we'll probably be seeing some interesting games that any harcore gamer would consider a "must-have."

By hardcore he probably means games that are worth looking forward to for months.. those kind of games. So far it looks like we're getting nothing more than some nice nintendo brand games (galaxy, ssbb, metriod) and some wierd wiimote inspired games. Which aren't exactly bad... but it'd be nice to have something different to look forward to..
well im okay with the childish games that come out but im 16 yrs old throw me a freakin bone once in awhile ...whats wrong with wanting a lil violence here and there?
That is what I was wondering.. I came like SO close to buying one like a weeka go.. there were 3 of them on the shelf. I could have bout one.. but I would just be staring at it.. I dont really have any interestes of the games that are out now
I'd say there is enough good games to look forward to, proably more games than I can afford to buy. The only thing missing is some kind of Shooter, except for Metroid. I would really like to see a non future sifi/non war shooter, kinda like Red Steel but without the sucking.

You're not funny. Okay...i dont think he was trying to be funny...but he brings up a point many people have different definitions of hardcore. I think a hardcore game is a game that involves a lot of time a nd though, not novelty games. But if we dont know what the TP's definition is how are we suppose to answer him?
What I've understood using System Wars knowledge, a hardcore game is something in "First Person View" & involving guns. Everything else is considered "teh kiddieh!!".

SADNESS, DEWY'S ADVENTURE, and NO MORE HEROES are the ones im most looking forward too (if i ever get a wii) but yeah no one seems to be talking much about them or i havent seen any threads really about these games. But im usually never on the wii board because i dnt have a wii andyway i dnt know if those are hardcore for you but you should check them out.

When i think Hardcore in terms of gaming, I think 72 hour playing stints and unoriginal games i.e. no life... No offense to anyone but I think hardcore anything in terms of gaming makes gamers sound nerdy...

Most game that are coming are full fledged games. MK, Sonic and SSX blur are coming soon. Really, the party games (which i like) are the minority. I assume that full fledged games = Not a party game or mini games collection, If not i have not idea what are you asking.

You guys have the wrong system then. Try a PS3, but the irony here is, as opposed to you guys I have a PS3 and I'm buying a Wii to hold me over till the PS3 gets better games. I don't really like most nintendo games that came out after the 64, so I'm just buying it for the VC games, it's a shame that GoldenEye probably won't be out on Virtual Console.

That's what the PS3 and 360 fanboys want we learn. They think they are cool enough to say what's hardcore means. An "hardcore gamer" will not care about these things. All he wants to do is to play video games. IMO, Hardcore games don't exist. If they exists, please bring a definition to everyone. Â

Does the notion of exclusive and ports mean something of what is hardcore or not? It's because I don't see the point. They are video games first. By the logic of the topic creator, all these games are hardcore. I don't think you can't bring a good definition of what is an hardcore game. Hardcore games don't exist. Hardcore games mean violence and gore games? All these games can be put on that category.
It's been nearly 20 years that I play on video games and no I never heard of this thing of hardcore games.

To me a "hardcore" game is one that always leaves room for improvement no matter how skilful the player is. A game that can never fully be mastered and always continues to challenge the player.
