No Messaging System for 3DS

Just as Nintendo starts getting things right, they add back in MP3 support, the possiblity for in game music, and one universal friend code, they take a step back.

No messaging system at all to contact your friends. That means, it doesn't matter if you can see your buddy playing Street Fighter online, if you don't have their phone number that means nuttin'!

Ok, I suppose the game may have the ability to send you to their match, but more than likely the friend playing street fighter won't be in an open match, since its 1v1.

Pretty disapointing if you ask me, makes the friends list pretty pointless.

One of my favorite things with new consoles is the abiltiy to message your friends. It makes you feel more social. This really sucks. I hope at the very least you can mesage in game. I hate games where you can play online but cant communicate at all. You might as well just play bots if you cant talk to who ever your playing with. Why would they not have online chat? Is it that difficult to add it to the system built in?

Come on Nintendo, even my phone has messaging for games and you can't even get a messaging system on your dedicated handheld?

Good move for Nintendo. Have you ever played xbox live and the amount of people that slag you off and swear is terrible. Its sickening really. Nintendo could add this feature but to only people on their friends list they could message that's it. Its good this way because smaller children will start playing online one day and the last thing they want is idiots giving them crap online and wierdos talking to them.

nintendo needs to get over its pedophile fear. step into 2011. and give there systems ALL of them messaging to friends. let us see whos online. be able to join those games. and let us have party voice chats with them. seriously get over the im going to rape the 5 year old playing online fear they have created and join the ps3 and 360 and have a competenent online system. but unfortunently they dont appear to want to do that. i want to be able to turn it on see whos on and if i see a buddy play him online. like i can do on the 360 or ps3. i also want real gamer tags or whatever nintendo wants to call them not a random assortment of numbers. this is why i have to have a 360 or ps3 and then maybe a wii or ds because if i ever want to play online the nintendo system isnt the one for me. and playing online is how i can keep up with friends across the country because im out of state in college. kayoticdreamz

They have so much potiential when it comes to online experience but it seems that is the last thing they put on their priority list. Only thing I hate about Nintendo.

They didn't have codes for just the system itself and friends either.... and for this I think is the reason why messaging should be on here. Especially if there is a notification when friends come on. What if you wanted to play a game with an online friend and send a quick message to ask?

This topic of my quote.. thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard.. The same could be said about cellphones and laptop/internet and the 360. No where is really safe anymore.. Unless parent put their child in a plastic bubble and background check everyone whom ever talks to him/her then chances are somewhere in that childs life there is going to be a bad person.

and why would you even need a chat feature on a handheld gaming devise anyways.. if ya wanna chat it up then get a cellphone or pda or something that was designed for chat/text.

Added (almost forgot) .. as for the indocator light on the 3ds that tells ya when friends are online/their 3ds that feature was added stricky as a way to see whom is on their ds when you are so you can play multiplayer games with them, since with the 3ds only 1 friend code is needed (instead of like before where each game needed its own friend code.)

Honestly, if the guy wants to tell you what you did wrong, so be it. You hate people who do that (grammar nazis... thats pretty terrible to say, considering the guy isn't harming anyone or anything of the sort saying that, pretty much a bad comparison)? So be it. Let him do as he pleases and you have your say as well. Is it truly a big deal he was fixing grammar? If thats his thing, let him do it. Not to mention, you totally blew off on him on something so minor that when you leave your computer you don't think about. Think about that.
