Man, a lot of people were with their fingers closed for a Monster Hunter game on the 3DS. Some people hoped that in the Capcom Captivate event they would announce it to the fans. I've never played Monster Hunter before, but decided If it did came out, I'll buy it to see if I like the series as much as a lot of people. I personally think it will come out...eventually, maybe in 2 of 3 years.

Anyone else wants this game on 3DS? Any thoughts?

Play monster Hunter Tri if you have a Wii. But I agree with you: Monster Hunter on the 3DS would be lovely. Especially since it will eliminate the finger hook complex.

If u like RPG-ish games with no story but heavy grinding then yes monster hunter is fun, but its NOT for everyone...I had it and liked it for about 10-20 hours but after that it just became super repedative to me. It feels like an offline MMO imo.

I don't mind the grinding, I think I'll give it a chance on the wii, and if sometime it comes to the 3DS (very likely) I'll make a decision then.

And yes, Capcom Captivate was over last week, but companies and people who attended the event couldn't talk about any of it until today, tuesday 12.

monster hunter starts off very slow, but it's important for it to be like that. takes a while getting used to the fact that you have to choose between slow weapons with awkward timing (to say the least) or one fast weapon that barely scratches the enemy with each hit. and there are camera controls, underwater combat, scavenging items, etc. so yeah, don't be surprised if you spend a whole day before you get to your first boss, but don't give up: it's amazing.

It takes like an hour to get to the first boss. It took me like tries to finally kill the Great Jaggi on for the first time. It took so long though because I ran out of time each run without killing him but once I finally did, it felt pretty bomb.

If they made one for the 3DS I might be interested. Would want to have a lot of character customization options though.

Got two copies of Monster Hunter tri, played with my brother for just over 100 hours, we both stopped playing it had far too much grinding for too little reward and the item system was atrocious.needs streamling and the pace quickening for more satisfying combat, and actual positions of the monsters being made accurate, not this best guess system they use (lazy coders). Also played the PSP version which had larger environments and that had similiar issues. If they do make one on the 3DS they'll have to make sure they quicken it up, if anything to make the battery charge last enough for you to feel rewarded for all your hard work, time and effort.

I saw a trailer for xenoblade for the Wii, nice draw distance and look interesting, might be worth a look, they may release that on 3DS too as it's monolith.

something tells me that despite 100 hours of gameplay, you know, or you understood, very little of monster hunter.

Coolyfett was able to kill the Jaggi on his first try ever. Only took about 22 minutes to complete such a magnificent task. Its harder to adjust from an easy game like Pokemon to a harder game like Monster Hunter. Keep trying buddy, eventually you will be a master hunter. :)

What are you talking about, Monster Positions 0_0 do you mean hitboxes. Xenoblade is not MH, i however would love a MH game with that kind of scale and as well populated (Monsters, MHTri had a working ecosystem. A basic one but it still had one now if it blew up to the size of Xenoblade's world then that would be awesome while maintaining a fairly complex ecosystem then that would be perfect).

Well, Many people struggle to grasp the self-development part of monster hunter, to put it in a few words: you might battle a great jaggi for 40 minutes, after 3 failed quests... but the true meaning of monster hunter lies right after you defeat the great jaggi... the rewarding feeling you get, you continue onwards to bigger monsters, with more sets of teeth, and meaner screams... and after you have conquered most of those, you return to this jaggi, which originally took you 40 minutes, and beat him in 5... that's when you realise that - it wasn't about armour; it was about you, how you played and how much has changed since the first time you met this "Great Jaggi". As for the topic: I think MH for 3DS would be fantastic, 3DS is quite well known in the west, whereas monster hunter isn't... if it came out for 3DS, the audience would increase, thus the western players could get a piece of the same community spirit that they have in japan.

If Capcom don't make Monster Hunter on 3DS, they've officially lost the plot completely.

If it is on the 3DS, the bottom screen better be an internet connection so I don't have to keep on checking the wiki for random details. Bought Tri a couple days ago and having a fairly good time (online with friends saved this game for me), but I can understand why some people would want it streamlined since it really is a tonne of stuff to take in when it's your first Monster Hunter...on top of that, a lot of the aspects of the game aren't explained very well or are done in a super boring manner. I'm trying to stay away from message boards dedicated to it though because you enjoying the game seems to take a backseat to "no! If you're not equipped with X, Y, Z for quest A, B, C, then you suck!".

Items on the right and start menu or map on the left. Something like this: http://3ds.tgbus.com/UploadFiles/201103/20110328133757165.jpg But the map and inventory positions switched around because you need to be able to move around while selecting items.
