.....Yeah, I'm not good at starting off topics, so...... yeah. Which do you choose?

NMH2 was a downgrade, aside from combat. They just took NMH and stripped if of exploration and collecting and all sorts of other things (less workouts, less combat-based missions, less variety in missions). also it felt shorter, despite being the same length. there was no need for money ultimately, other than 2 swords (which you wont even use) and clothes (that count for jack squat) NMH is better in my opiniongarrett_duffmantotally forgot about the lack of the open world... i liked it. but it was taken out of the game >.>
No More Heroes
-Excellent characters and funny
-Combat was pretty entertaining
-Ranked missions got worse each consecutive time (I still want to erase that aweful final ranked mission from my mind)
-overworld was completely pointless and hurt me physically and mentally
-the mortercycle controls also hurt me physically and mentally
-side jobs mortally wounded me physically and mentally
OVERALL: 5.5/10 This game may have excellent style all over, but as an actuall video game it is quite awful
No More Heroes 2
-Bosses weren't as interesting, but I got into the story a bit more this time
-combat has improved quite nicely. I especially enjoy the ability to switch weapons on the fly
-Ranked missions were quite consistantly good, but got a little too repetative with the amount of enemies showing up
-Getting rid of the overworld has streamlined the experience greatly
-Side jobs are probably the best part of this game. I have spent hours on each one (with the exception of the scorpion collecting job) Go 8 bit!!!
Overall: 8.0/10 This is a vast improvement over the original. It has excellent style and it manages to be a good game as well.
uh... you mention 2 things wrong with two... and none that are wrong with 1... and yet they are even?i missed the open world from 1
and i hate the gym in 2
so it's about even, with a little edge going to 2GC4ever

Sure, it had lots of room for improvement, but i would have much rather they actually IMPROVED it, instead of just tossing the entire thing out. so no, its a bad thing.
Easily NMH2 is the better game; better pacing, better story(even if it was a nonsensical joke), better combat, better variety among the stages and bosses, multiple weapons with different properties, better side missions, getting rid of the buy in was a great move, ditching the open world was another good move, playing as Shinobu was enjoyable, even if they needed to tighten the platforming controls. NMH2 is easily the better game. Sepewrathwow... i think im going to have to disagree with about 90% of that. No More Heroes 2 felt like a dead sprint until the finish to me, and the levels all felt exactly the same, only mapped differently. the only instance in which i truly felt like there was a distinguished change was the [third] boss (the one with the graveyard and hills), and even then it was all pretty linear. the combat was good, but where were the dodge-counter attacks? I played through the whole game not ever figuring that out. heck, D-pad dodging in general just felt broken. I think there were the same amount of weapons in NMH as there were in NMH2, unless you count the 2 blades as being 2 individual weapons the side missions were better, but only when it was job missions. revenge missions were the most pathetic excuse for battle massions i have ever experienced. the open-world needed to be improved, not canned. Shinobu was TERRIBLE. whats the point of jumping if you cant ever get it to do what you want? If I have to spend more then 10 seconds trying to jump up a box, then there is something deathly wrong. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed No More Heroes 2, but there was ALOT of crap that should have been fixed, that people just looked over. We really got the shaft with this game, despite decent reviews. whats the point of being rank 50 if there is only going to be around 10 ranking battles anyways? and we were promised fights against multiple bosses, which happens what, ONCE? thats not "Fights", thats "A Fight". Suda just pissed me off with this game, its like a pie with delicious crust, but rotten innards. you have to eat around the inside stuff, just because the crust was soo good
Uh its an action game, hack n slash games are generally known for being linear, you know like the first one. Also the first one where all the missions had the same pacing and basic enemy types, the real standouts were I think the ranked 3 fight(cant remember the exact order), you know where Ru dies, which wasn't the best ranked fight. There were 4 weapons in NMH2 and they were clearly each unique, like the Peony being the heavy weapon, which does big damage but is slow vs the Rose Nasty which was dual blades, were fast and light and had their own unique animations. Like I said the platforming controls needed work, but combat with Shinobu was great, the games not a platformer after all.
Also there was no promise of multiple ranked fights against multiple opponents a bunch of times. They said it was possible that rank fights wouldn't be one on one, that could mean anything between 1 and a zillion. It just happened to be once. The revenge missions were an extension of those assassination missions that were in the first always in a parking lot, but were less frustrating and had more unique enemies. Your really grasping at straws complaining about the rank, the rank doesn't matter, would it really matter if he started at rank 13 vs rank 50? Its not like this thing has an amazingly engrossing story and that was a plot hole. The last thing a dedicated action game really needs is an open world, action games are linear with set stages. a hub world is pointless. The game does have its problems, but alot less than the first one. The first one is a game where people ignored the many issues because it was just alot of silly fun. The second was a much stronger, better put together game.

I KNOW im not the only one who thought that their might even be a CHANCE that that meant you would have to fight 50 bosses total. the combo bosses, in my head, were supposed to slim down the number of levels per boss fight, but instead we just skip ahead, so yea, it would matter if he started at rank 13 instead of 50, because then at least that way we would know that the game would NOT feature 50 bosses, and henceforth more gameplay.
lol you brought up how they said not al boss fights would be 1 on 1 but you missed the part in that same interview where it said there wouldn't be 50 bossses? Yeah this is all opinion which game is better, but you seem to have taken issue with NMH2 not having the same shortcomings as NMH1. You seem to have been a fan of the missteps in NMH1, nothing wrong with that, its the same with Mass Effect 1 over on the 360 boards, people miss those flaws in ME2. You may have enjoyed rolling around the open world, the same as people enjoyed struggling with the Mako up 90 degree angles, but that doesn't change the fact that from a design standpoint, the sequel is a better package. Sepewraththey didnt FIX anything! wherever they were faced with a problem, they canned the issue altogether instead of fixing it! thats not an upgrade, its a cop-out
Can't really say. Didn't get the chance to complete part 2, and won't for a few more weeks (see sig).
Both are great, but i think i have to go with NMH2, everything was just improved. i also liked the stroy, (dont get why people dont like it)
my only little complaint is that some of the bosses didnt have as much personality and arnt memorable (only afew, most were great)
uh... I did the muscle that costed 10000 and that was enough to beat it, same with staminaI like the first one best.
