Since they're new with working with the Wii they'll have to add online later for the game.

i said for now theirs no online -- but i doubt we'll see it anytime soon.. we havent even seen patches for games yet, i doubt we'll see anything anytime soon.

I'm not too excited about Guitar Hero online, but it's more the principle of the Wii being limited and left out that really bothers me. And this may create many precedents.
Wow i was looking forward to this game too. Look like i'm getting the 360 version when i get my 360. But in an ign hands on of guitar hero 3 for wii they said they had to skip over a NWC option and they said they were sure some multiplayer options would be online.

I cant think of any possible reason Nintendo would block online play for this game, even if they were trying to use thier own system they wouldnt stop them. So I will have to wait and see if some else picks up this story and elaborates on it, because gonintendo tends to just report things with no story behind it.

For all you know that information has been based on the fact that GH3 = online && GH3 is on Wii --> Wii has online GH3.
The Nintendo Wii version of the game will support the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and though both Vicarious Visions and Red Octane are remaining tightlipped about the features within, every indication led us to believe that it's safe to assume that at least a few of the modes, both co-op and competitive, will be playable over the Internet. Which features, and whether or not the Wii version will have downloadable content, remains up in the air. Unfortunately, during our playtime with the Wii game, we had to skip over the "Nintendo WFC" option in the menu. Curses.
This is why i dont even bother with go nintendo...
I really wish people would stop making topics like this, "oh such and such is confirmed" at least you could do is make a topic saying online in danger or something. Because that was not a confirmation.

Oh, dang, this is from the UK, I didn't even notice. In this case, I really hope this article is wrong. Nintendo announced at E3 that GH3 specificaly would be online. I hope, and think that this is a false article. If Nintendo wants a game online bad enough, they'll make sure that its online, 3rd party or not. since they already announced it, I think that they wil make sure its online.
You know what? Screw you nintendo, I was wanting a new wii game, but Achievements, track downloads and MP onlineon 360, why WOULD anyone buy the wii version? (Unless they only have wii...)
