okay so I have to say that I generally like to play games that appeal more to "hardcore gamers." By that I mean, I like games that are challenging, but not overly so, involve a solid combat system, good enemies, boss fights, the works. Furthermore, I have to say that I like games with more....intense storylines. Games like Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 2, Mass Effect, and the like, with good storylines with lots of twists. So its kind of annoying to look at the docket of Wii games, and see that there isnt much for me. I mean, I have the following games: Resident Evil 4, Okami, No More Heroes, and Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire, and other than that, what is there?

If you expect Mass Effect, you've obviously bought the wrong system.

I feel the same. It's not that there is a lack of hardcore games, it's just that they don't have too much replay value. I own about 3/4 of the games on that list, for some reason I've only gotten about 50 hours out of Mario kart and Brawl, and most of them collect dust once I beat them.

You have third party games. Nintendo consoles are usually best known for their first party titles. Some Nintendo first party titles are Super Smash Bros Brawl, The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Mario Kart Wii.

Buy Brawl. Metroid Prime 3 is also something you might like from the sounds of your rant. Super Mario Galaxy is good but can only go so far. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is OK but is disliked by many-a gamer.

Other than Metroid and Fire Emblem, steer clear of the 1st party games. You want storyline? They don't have them. You want single player replay value? They don't have them. Don't let the fanboys lure you, most Nintendo games are empty calories.

I will suggest the new Final Fantasy : Chocobo Dungeon game. It might have a cute exterior but it has a compelling story and a rogue like mechanic that gives it some replay value.

Fire Emblem is another great game. A lot of story, it is also quite long. Once you finish it, you unlock a "Hard" mode which gives it another playthrough.

The Trauma Center series might also interest you. A medical simulation game with an anime styled bio-terrorist story.

There is a lot of games. It's just a question of whether or not your open to anything. If you aren't open to trying software, you'll probably hate the Wii.

Look at the two stickies at the top of the Wii Board.

The problem with the hardcore crowd is that most of them are rarely willing to try something new. They're happy with the numerous sequels, or games that resemble high similarities to other games they own.

The Force unleashed comes out next month, adding a strong third party title to the list. It will be on 360 too but supposenly both games will be different in terms of levels and such. Also you'll get to use the Wii Remote as a lightsaber :P need I say more?
