NP April Review Scores (Okami included!)

Okami (Wii) - 7.5

Who wants to start with the Okami score?

The worst score Okami has ever gotten, and to no surprise, from Nintendo Power.

Mario Kart needs to stop getting reviewed. Sites only have the in-progress version and haven't tested online.

Not the best score for Okami, but I don't care since its from NP. I'll wait and see once IGN and Gamespot review it. Then I'll make my decision on whether to get it or not.

Don't trust Nintendo Power. I guarantee if it was developed by Nintendo it would have gotten 9+. They are not a credible source. Rocky32189

Yeah, the 3/10 score for Baroque seemed pretty harsh. It may not be the best game ever made but surely it doesn't deserve a score that rivals shovelware. :o

yea.. and what the criticism about the game was that it was too hard.. :? you do not give a game a score of 3 for that... :? The other stuff was that they did not know much about the story, what was happening in the beggining of the game or something like that..

I just think NP is no a fan of RPG.. especially hard ones... imho :P

Why is everyone getting so fussy over a 7.5... Whoop-dee-freaking-do, it was originally a PS2 game that was ported to the Wii, why would it score the same as the original when most people have seen it before... It's no longer new and exciting...

Then again, it doesn't matter, since when is 7.5 a bad score?!? That's like slightly above average, what's wrong with that?

What did the review say? Maybe it got a 7.5 because something doesn't work that well or it runs poorly. Otherwise that 7.5 is a little to low...Nuke-13

-Pointing and drawing is faster and allows more freedom than analog stick
-Harder to be precise, resulting in recognition problems
-Awkward combat - slow, timed flicks of remote are required for consecutive hits; swing too fast and it's not recognized
-No motion-based fishing
-Issues can be overcome with practice
-Play PS2 version instead (apocalypse now?)

None of us have palyed the game yet, so we shouldn't be judging it overall.

Agreed. The developers of Okami (Ready at Dawn) said they would only be changing the controls, and put the game into widescreen and that's it. There really is nothing new, and 7.5 is by no means a bad score like people here make it out to be. If you didn't play it on the PS2 (like me), then I do think it's worth getting for Wii.

Agreed. I knew ever since I saw my first issue of that magazine that only Nintendo developed games got a high score. I'll wait for the review from GameSpot, 1UP, and IGN, thanks.

i`m just getting teh game.. even without reviews...

I have not heard anything bad about controllers no working (I doubt taht would happen as well) and that would eb teh only reason that will make me go to the ps2 version...

I`m getting this game.. no in launch thus.. but i`m buying for sure.. :P
