I was wondering if this is worth it. Anyone here have it and can give an opinion on it?

At that price, you might as well just buy rechargable AA's. I think you can get two sets for like $25.

Has anyone used any recahrgable batteries with the Wii remote? If so which brand would you recommend and how much is the battery life on average?

Just get rechargable AA's. They last just as long as normal AA's or even longer, you can use them for other stuff (as in not only the Wii), they have a lot of charges to them, 8 hour charge, and you can buy replacement batteries easily. I bought the rechargable batteries around May and I'm still using the pairs that came with the charger. And I see no difference in the battery time. I use the Wii's Internet Channel VERY frequently, so these batteries have been through a lot. Edit: I should also say: $21 for 2 AA's + the charger. But I seen some at a Sam's Club, $30 for 8 AA's + charger.

Do not get a charge station, they're a waste of money compared to rechargeable batteries. They don't last as long as regular rechargeables either (each use or their overall lifespan).

Get a recharger and 4 AA's for less then 30 dollars and you'll be set. The only thing to make sure about is that the batteries are rated 2500 or higher. The higher that number the longer they'll last. (see in the top right hand corner of the picture?)

Many members (including myself) have had great success with these

Please click HERE

The main problem with the charge stations is that batteries can't think so each time you rest the Wiimote back on it's cradle it charges it no matter if it needs it or not. So let's say you play the Wii for 15 mins then go off to do something else and put it back on the charge station, it uses one charge to get the battery back up to 100%. Since ALL rechargeable batteries have about 500 uses before they start to show signs of use (you can charge then 1000 times overall though) think how many wasted charges you'll use over the course of owning it.

Rechargeable batteries on the other hand can be charged when you need them charged so you don't have to worry about wasted charges, since the Wii itself tells you if the batteries are low there's no problem knwoing when you need to recharge them.

Plus think of things like the Wii Balance Board. THings like that are going to need batteries and if you decide to get those add ons all you need to do is just buy another set of batteries.

Rechargeables are a better investment

For the rechargeable battery packs. I'm not saying it's better, but it's pretty much the same concept as the AA's.

Heh, I just got me that exact recharger-battery kit for my digital camera.

Are the Wii remotes perfectly finewith the NiMH batteries? Camera only needs the 2, and the pack comes with 4, was thinking about using the extra 2 in my primary controller if the controller is perfectly compatible with them.

(nothing worse than the smell of leaking battery acid in the morning)

I've got to agree with jaysonguy and the others. I have the Energizers mentioned. I got 4 batteries plus the charger for 17.99, and then I got an extra set of 2 for my 3rd Wiimote for around 5 bucks. That's way cheaper than the charge station, and it's a more efficient method of powering the remotes. Also, I don't have to muddy up my Wiimotes with unapproved 3rd party attachments like the battery covers. I'm sure the rubber grips are nice and all, but I'm not a fan of skins or anything that changes my system from the way it was made to be. Oh and last gen I had a Nyko PS2 memory card that erased all of my info one day and then wouldn't let me save on it at all anymore. So, needless to say I no longer trust Nyko. And to the poster above, I've been using mine since January and have had no problems. I recharge about once a week if I'm playing frequently.

There are batteries called Sanyo Eneloop, and I have them. They work great, and keep charged for a year while idle (if you have 2 or more Wiimotes and only use the other ones when other people come over). I highly reccomend checking them out. Also, on a side note, they are recyclable, if the environment is important to you that is. They last for hours, I've only had to charge them twice in a month, and I play every day.

But really any rechargable is good in my books. Those charger stations suck once the battery life is dead, and you can't buy just the battery to replace the dead ones (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Its a terrible pile of crap. I had one, one of the batteries that come with it wouldnt hold a charge period. The charge that the working one did hold was not very long. My friend also bought one, and one of the batteries would not hold a charge no matter what, we tried all kinds of silly tricks to make sure it was getting proper contact etc. Its a pile of junk and anyone who tells you otherwise is either not paying attention or is easily satisified by a battery that barely lasts.

One more thing..Nintendo specifically states that you should not use rechargable batteries with the Wii remotes and that it may pose a hazard.

This looks like the way to go, and I may get these myself. One question though, how does it charge? Just stick the batteries into the device and plug it into the wall? Since I see no plug or cord of anysort, I am curious. Thanks.
