Hey guys, I've noticed lately, when I made my first Fragile thread here, that not a lot of people know about it. Hence, I decided to make this thread so that everyone can share in my anticipation of this game. With a dearth of good Wii titles, i think we might just get an excellent RPG in Fragile.
Release Dates:
- JP: TBA 2008
- NA: TBA
- EU: TBA
Platform: Wii exclusive
Genre: Action RPG
Developers: tri -Crescendo, the same game developers behind Eternal Sonata, Baten Kaitos series, Valkyrie Profile series, Star Ocean : The Blue Sphere, and Star Ocean: Till the end of Time. You can see that they have a good grounding in RPGs. The game is being published by Namco-Bandai.
Working Boxart:
Story: Very little is known about the story thus far. But here is what I could find so far.
Fragile is set in a post-apocalyptic near future world that has lost its light and is covered in a dense fog. Almost all the world's population has vanished, and the cities have been left abandoned. The game places the player in the shoes of Seto, a young boy.
Seto wanders the world, searching for survivors and the answers behind the disappearance of everyone else. Seto also searches for a mysterious girl named "Heroine". However in his quest he must deal with ghosts and demons that lurk within the ruins of the abandoned cities.
Characters:
Seto: The main character, who's story you will dwelve deeply, is named Seto. He will be at the story's centre, and will search around a un-inhabited planet searching for life.
Ren:A mysterious girl whom seto is on a journey to find. The rest, remains a mystery.
Sai:Another femal character that meets Seto.
Kuro: A boy, much like Seto, searching through the world alone.
Setting/Enviornments:
We know that we will be able to go to different locations that offer very different settings. One is a hotel, in the midst of day, where we will be able to gaze upon the beautiful scenery whilst searching; the other, an underground, where almost no light exists except that from your torch. No other Environments have been shown thus far.
The world of Fragile will be filled with objects, wall sketches and short stories for the player to examine and read. Each artifact holds the memories of its former owner, and offers back story and hints to the player.
Gameplay:
The Wii Remote is used as an aid in exploration. Seto has access to a flashlight, controlled by the Wii Remote, to illuminate his surroundings as well to solve puzzles and interact with the environment. The flashlight is also used to uncover hidden enemies and can act as a weapon against them. Seto also has access to a metal detector that the player can use to find various items hidden on the ground, as well as a microphone that picks up sounds through the mini speaker. Hidden enemies can be detected this way by picking up their sounds.
Some of the objects the player finds can be used as weapons. In released screenshots Seto also is seen holding a simple twig, though its use is also currently unknown.
The Moon is thought to play a large role in the game.
Screens: Here are a few screens to show you the atmospheric enviornements that you will visit in the game.

Soundtrack: So far I have only heard one tune, on their official website. But that tune, is so AWESOME, that I can easily say that the game is going to have an excellent soundtrack. To listen to it,go to the official site, linked above, and mess around with the menus, till you find it. Its in japanese, so I cant tell you which ones to click on, but it'll be worth it.
In summation, I think this game will be what Wii owners deserve, and others envy. The marriage of atmospheric enviornements, and calm and unsettling soundtrack is sure to make anyones day.
NOTE: please dont let this thread die, and hopefully you like what I have done.
Special thanks to TwilightMan, for inspiring me to do this, and Wintry_Flutist for asking me to make this.
