Official Guess The New Nintendo's System Name Thread!

Honestly, i'm going to go with, and would LOVE to just see - THE NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM HD.

Why? Because in the name of "Nintendo is doing it right this time", lets just get back to the roots, reset and get some RAW NINTENDO. If this is the case, I think the Nintendo Entertainment System HD is nostalgic, just, and outright plain EXCITING! No more crazyness, no more trying to be different for the sake of getting ahead. By this point, I feel the "console wars" are over. It's clear that all the other companies NEED Nintendo to guide them, and after seeing the 3DS, I feel that in this time, day and age, Nintendo has learned from all their mistakes of the past, and has (with 3DS) and IS READY to return to 100% POWER!

Also, it's a new age of entertainment. Where we have videogame systems giving us our TV, dvd's, motion control gaming which makes for a fyun party night. I think we've reached a new standard in "entertainment system".

Therefore, plain and simply, I'm going to go with the NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM HD. This will stand for and mark a new stardard in a new generation of "entertainment system"

Ofcorse, Nintendo is more creative then this, and it could very well be called something new and original, BUT, I think this simple, but powerful name would mean a lot to ALOT of peolpe.

What do you guys think? And what do you guys think it's going to be called! LETS USE THE FORCE AND SEE THE FUTURE! GO! ;D

The Wii was the perfect name for Nintendo's core user, children and casual users

Considering that their new console will only reinforce what the Wii did I expect a name in the same vein

Nintendo didn't spend decades working to grab children and casuals to reach their peak with the Wii and then not build off those principles

Guys, if the controller is so new like we've read that means no nunchuck. It will probably support Wii controllers, but I'm thinking dropping the brand name of Wii is a good idea if they are going more of a different direction

Or maybe they should call it, the "Oh, Nintendidn't!"

Either way, we're sure to be surprised.

Maybe the N6 HD, or simply the N6 (Nintendo's 6th console)

In my experience, gamers call it Nintendo and casuals call it Wii. My parents and non gamer friends would always just say Wii. I dunno, that's just my random experience but the fact their slogan was "Wii would like to play" and all the "Wii Blank" games, it seems pretty mad to chuck that away. Nintendo easily has the name recognition to change the name of their console, but, I do think they will keep the Wii name.

I got a good Wii 2 name (Im actually quoting this name from an Lp-er on youtube called NintendoCapriSun). The name will be "Whiid" Wii + HD. I've bolding h and d for those of you that dont get why he would think it would be called that.

They said the controller's touch screen can be used as a sensor bar, for when you want to take advantage of the backwards compadibility and play some Wii games.

I say simply "Nintendo Entertainment System HD" because it's going to do everything.

I predict that they're going to keep producing Casual games on the Wii, since the casual audience knows that Wii represents there kinds of games, and then make the REAL games for the actual NEW hardware. I think this might be the first system where the last gen will be continued to be worked on and mayve last the span of the current system. Casual games take less manpower to make, so why not just save money, and make those games for Wii for the moms, and make the real games for the NESHD. I really think this system will serve two purposes. On top of the Nintendo being with Netflix now, you have movies, REAL GAMES, casual games, market place games....

Therefore simply, "Nintendo Entertainment System HD" because it's a Nintendo system that now does EVERYthing this generation knows as entertainment. People will go NUTS over this name. It's basic, sexy... lol. And if they ARE going back to the old Nintendo, with also keeping their new discovery in the same system (Wii), I don't see anyway possible that this WON'T be the name! HOLLERRRRRRR!

Hmmmm...combine the Wii name with the name of another Nintendo system. Like:

Super Wii

Wii 64

Wiicube

WiiDS (especially if the big N goes with this idea of putting a screen on the controller)

Wii & Watch (OK, so Game & Watch wasn't really a system, but oh well...)

If it is going to have the Wii in the title then they should call it Wiix2, which is highly unoriginal but it sounds nice when you pronounce it: We ecks too

The problem with putting "Wii" ion the title is that if they are trying to appeal to the hardcore, assiciating the system with the name "Wii" goes against that. I think it will be enough to know taht the system plays Wii games. But if they want to appeal to the hardcore, and "Do things right this time" I think they're going to need a revamping name. I'm sticking with my "Nintendo Entertainment System HD". PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE
