Official list of games to support the 2nd Slidpad

Something that wasn't announced until after the show, the slidpad that is scaring everyone is to be used by more than just Monster Hunter. Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil will make use of it, as will Kingdom Hearts and Ace Combat.

Actually, I'd still shell out the dough for it, especially if there's a special edition that comes with the games (like special designs on the backthat tie in with the game).I think I'm the only one who thinks it looks pretty bad-a$$; kinda like the Nyko Power Grip with an additional slidepad and shoulder buttons (albeit without the battery-extending goodness).

If the KH3D and Revelations is on that list, then i have to buy slidpad. I was kind of hoping they scrap that idea.danjin44

From what I hear, the add on is still optional, and not required. Plus, if anything, the add on will mostlikly be used for remaping of the controls on the touch screen to the second circle pad and the L2/ R2 (camra controls for example)

Seriously guys its going to cost $10-$15 in USD. You can't afford that or justify that for 3 extra shoulder buttons and a 2nd pad? They can't add 3 more shoulder buttons and an analog slider to a redesign, I'm pretty confident this will stay as an add on the whole gen for select games and they won't require it, and they won't add the shoulder buttons or the 2nd pad to the redesign. I think this also means there is more time before a planned redesign as the size change in a potential redesign will mess up how this thing fits. I'd expect a 3DS+ by fall 2013 at the earliest.darth-pyschosis

Yeah, though personally I dont see why people are freaking out over this. 20 dollars for an addon that works with mutiple games, better than having to buy a different add on for each game. And, its also better that this addon comes now rather than later. That way the likelyhood of developers making use of it is higher. I really dont see this as a bad thing.

I believe if they launch a 3DS redesign in the up coming year, then they will allow those of us who bough the 3DS early to exchange it for the redesign.

I was fine by the look of the Slidpad, for me it is whether I can reach the buttons, but I will likely get it even if I have no games that go with it. Thought it would be nice to have a Aqua blue color since that is the color of my 3DS, but Black goes with everything so no big worries there either.

It sounds like a test, to me. I bet nintendo releases a bunch of high calibur games that make VERY good use of the addon. If this causes the device to sell like crazy, you can bet the 3DSlite will have the same features in a more compact form.

I don't know where I stand, really. In fact, todays portables are so big that they almost require one to have a case for them and a bag, so size isn't much of an issue. I miss the days of the gba where I could put it in my pocket, caseless.

I think that ethically, it's wrong for Nintendo to release something like this IF it is necessary to play games, after millions have already purchased systems. At the same time, knowing Nintendo, I doubt it will be mandatory. Yeah, it looks like crap, and makes the portability of the system that much more questionable, but I'm willing to entertain the thought that it just might be comfortable enough to both hold and use that it won't be a total waste.

Only time will tell.
