I'm happy that it's not coming... I've also been affected by the "curse", because I've got almost every one since 3.
Unfortunatly none of them have been close to matching the original 3, though MP8 is a huge step-up from 5,6, and 7.
Where's your source? dragonlife29Um, I don't need one. The Mario Party series is annual, meaning there's one each year. And they usually come by the end of August. If there was one, I would probably have it by now...

MP8 is on Wii.

If anything, they're planning on adding MotionPlus support in the next one.

The series still needs to end though. It's gone too far.
Why stop a series that sells millions, especially one where its games only take a year to develop?
If it doesn't come I'll be veeery surprised
Just because a game doesn't come out when you "think" it is doesn't mean it's not coming. Game companies are not answerable to gamers about when a game comes out.
I have a real problem with gamers who think they're in charge of what games should look like (see Diablo III) or when games HAVE to come out. It's not up to us. It's up to the companies making the game. If you don't like it there's always something else you could play.
I really enjoy the Mario Party franchise as do my children. They're a lot of fun to play together. I'm looking forward to finally seeing Mario Party 9 be announced.
If you're looking forward to MP9 just wait. Nintendo will "make" it and announce it when they want to. Not when we say they have to.
If we haven't heard any news from it by now, it's probably not coming out. But if it does, then some of the mini-games will probably use the wii speak.

And possibly even the balance board.
when you've got 4 actual people playing against each other, the game can be pretty fun... and it's nice having a game where being the best player doesn't guarantee a win... i can play against my sister without her throwing a fit...
however, when there's less than 4, and you have to put in CPU characters, it can really suck. in the last Mario Party the computer controller characters were practically broken... they'd get perfect rolls constantly, but then suck at the mini-games. absolutely no balance.
if they could figure out a way to have 2 player, 3 player and 4 player mode, without computers unless you want them, that would really help the franchise.
oh, and maybe more than 6 boards each game. perhaps a level creator, and an online mode?

I agree. And im cursed as well....I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!
I have Mario Party 1-8 and DS. Yup, I got all of them, except for Advance.
I'll be honest: I enjoyed the hell out of 1-5. I'm damn happy I spent my money on those games, because at the time, I really did have a lot of fun with them.
Now I'm older and not as appeased. I bought 7 the first day it came out, but after that... I stopped. 8 came around, and I had no intention of buying it. However, my little brother and little sister wanted it, so I chipped in ten dollars for their cause, and we got it.
It's really weird to say that I've spent about 460-470 dollars (including tax) on the Mario Party series, but they aren't bad games by any means, and I'm sure I would like Mario Party 9, especially if it uses the Wii Motion Plus. I won't buy it, though. I'll leave it up to my brother or sisters.
If Mario Party 9 had more then a few fun mini games, was 50% luck 50% skill instead of 90% luck, then I wouldn't mind seeing it come back. Also technically it would be Mario party 10 because one of the Mario Partys was made on the N64 then remade, a bit differently on the Gamecube. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.Durhamster
No, there has never been a remake of any Mario Party game, ever. ;)
Why would they need to remake a game of that nature?
That series is the same every year with small tweaks everytime. We need other games on Wii besides mini game party stuff.
