I really hope I dont get flamed for this.

So I saw the amazing reviews, and it was on-sale a few weeks ago, so I picked it up. I just finished the game and I was left surprised. I was like eh... Ok I am done, where was the amazing game? I went to rate it and I felt like I was giving it 8, just to be nice.

Graphics where amazing, no question about it. I wish most games looked this good.

Players moved well in the game but felt very sluggish, and rought with the remote. Maybe this was me, or the remote, but it didnt feel like I had great control of them.

A few times it seemed unclear what the goal was, and it was run around hoping to find what I was supposed to do.

The game was insanely easy, I didnt feel any challenge.

It seemed like the game moved slow for me. Some games like RE4 I couldnt wait to play the next day to see what happens next, where as this game I just hoped it would pick up. I guess what I am asking is what was I missing? I k now some people just dont get into a certain game and maybe that was it for me. All the reviews where so over the top glowing I am sure a lot of people really loved this game and maybe I missed something.

Thanks guys

dude I felt the exact opposite the first time I played the game. It was the best game I've played in a long time.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions and this just seems to be yours. I will admit that there isn't much of a challenge within the game during the main storyline(exception of a couple of boss fights(Oki and NineTails(sorry for possible spoilers))), but I found enough to too much of a challenge when I explored more of the game's extra areas, such as the survival dungeons(this was tough for me, seeing how I had to quit after 15 or so consecutive battles down there due to increasing difficulty). I won't disagree with you on controls, seeing how I too face an occasional problem in the game when it comes to me drawing something(mainly just trying to chain attacks in fights).

I am also one of those people who had a wonderful time with Okami, seeing how it stops nothing short of being as good as any of the best Zelda games out there. Though I can agree when you say that you do tend to lose direction of what exactly are you supposed to do, seeing how there are so many things you can do, you tend to spends hours just helping people rather than following the main storyline. Though in my opinion, the game wouldn't be as great without these numerous side quests.

If you didn't like it as much as the next person, then that's fine. You seem to be the person who's interested in a straight forward game with moderate difficulty rather than one willing to roam around, looking for stuff to do. Just find a game you'd like and enjoy it. As I repeat, everybody's entitled to their opinions. There's no shame in not liking it as much.

I like the game but the controls are inexcusable this long in the Wii's lifecycle

Thankfully the game is easy and you can finish it using the minimum number of moves

Well I really liked The Godfather on here because aside from the mission objectives, you can run around town and you need to do a million side jobs. at the highest difficulty that game was a challenge. The map in that game was fantastic. I wish they would make another game like that, just have the makers of okami do the graphics!

Is The Godfather really that good? I'm not trying to be rude, but it's just I've seen the game, and it does look somewhat impressive.(glad they have the memorable scenes in there) If and when I get more money, I'll look into investing on that.

Well, I don't know what to say, other than what I've told you in my last long post...

No I appreciate the reply.

I loved the godfather game! That was a game I really felt had it all(well almost). The story followed the movies fairly well. The main missions made a lot of sense, and there where plenty of them to keep you busy. The side missions all made sense, and where a great distraction. You had to drive around town taking over all of these shops. It was amazing how many things you needed to do, not only take over say a baker, but then take over the racket in the back. Everything you did had a consequence. If you took over too many from one family, then you start a mob war.

I could go on and on, but it was very well done in my opinion. Only knock would be the graphics. Controls where some of the best I have seen. Cut scenes where excellent. Story fantastic. Challenging, and kept you wanting to finish it. It is $20 new now and its a steal.

Wow, sounds like a great game that I've been only curious about from the beginning. When I get the money(after several pre-intended games), I should pick this up.

Though hopefully you'll find another great game you'll like alot in the future. :)

I agree, that the game really isn't that great. Actually... I can't stand it.

I only played it for 13 hours, but I never want to touch it again. The graphics are fine, and controls are fine, but the combat is TERRIBLE!! EVERY SINGLE BATTLE IS JUST LIKE THE LAST!! And they are all so easy and boring. I really have no clue why people like this game. I tried and tried to like it, I kept playing and saying to myself that it'll get better. So far, it's the only Wii game I regret buying, and I bought Soulcaliber Legends :P

I finished it for PS2 and I tried playing it on the Wii and I think the controls are worse. My score for the PS2 version is a 9.5

I played it on the PS2 and liked it. But on the Wii, the controls just don't feel right and the game seems old, but maybe that is becuase I played it already. Either way it is only an average game for me.

I can't play for too long of sessions for some reason, but other than that, I think the game is pretty awesome. Sorry you didn't enjoy it.

My only complaint was the implementation of the Wii remote. I was slashing the rock at the beginning of the game in a straight horizontal line just like they said. The game even drew a "ghost" line for me and I did the same but it didnt work. Well, at least, not until the 11th try. What can you expect from a game that wasnt originally built for the Wii remote (original PS2 version) in the first place. Graphics were nice but Ammy looked blurry from a distance. And no, nothing is wrong with my TV. All my games are super clear, and crisp looking. Zelda and Okami are the only games that seem to have picture quality issues. Or at least they have the most inconsistent graphics depending on your setup.
