Okami pushes the PS2 to it's limits and requires more storage space than a DS cart would allow. It wouldn't work on the DS but a Wii version does make sense.
^ I'm sure Capcom could still port the game, we're just never going to get a true sequel. There's no way Okami would work on the DS though, the PS2 could barely handle it.
What is that special thing in okami? I've heard about some item or something like a paintbrush, but what does it do?Bullet_Holes
It's called the Celestial Brush. You use the control stick to draw a symbol on the screen and it creates something in the game. For instance if you draw a line out of the ground a tree appears. It seems like a perfect gameplay device for the Wii or DS, which is why a lot of people would like to see a port.
I think the drawing aspect would be lost when the graphical quality goes down. Magic Pengel a game where you draw is slated to come to the DS, at least in Japan. If you're looking to doodle in your game, you're probably best with that one.

I hate people that come into these post with their "it will never happen" BS. you do NOT know that for a fact so stop killing our dreams. Okami on the Wii or DS would be freaking awesome!!!!!
i beg to differ... it will not happen because capcom ownes the license. it sucks to see your favorite franchises bite the bullet but I'm a veteran of the death of Homeworld, Freespace and wing commander as well as some i can't think of. these games were insanely popular off their asses but as fate would have it they all had purely coicidentual deaths (wing commander=the movie, homeworld=relic being bought by thq and freespace=collapse of simulator market)
