When I first heard they were going to port Okami to the Wii I was very excited. I heard a lot of good stuff about it in terms of graphics and it's zelda style gameplay(Love Zelda games :)). I saw this as a chance to get a very interesting game that I missed out on with new controls and content and get it for a sweet price. Sadly as I recently found out it has nothing new aside from better graphics and controls. Now I would have been willing to accept that because it would still have cool new controls and a good price. But, then I found out they want me to pay 40$ for the game. I would have been willing to pay 30$ but 40$? I figured I might as well get the PS2 version because the Wii one doesn't have a heck of a lot going for it. So, what do you all say? Is Okami Wii worth getting or is it just a rip off?

Provided I get a Wii soon, I'm planning on getting the Wii's version of Okami, even though I have a PS2 right now. If there is an element to the controls that have been improved with the Wii's remake of this game, I think that is enough for me. Also, it's not as if Okami's a short game from what I hear, so paying $40 is ok in this case. It appears that this is a greater effort than just your typical PS2 port, so I'm really looking forward to it. :)

I know it's long it's just I could probably get the PS2 version for like 20 or 30$. I'm not sure if the Wii one is worth the extra 10$.

I understand. If you can manage to find this game at the price and buy it, more power to you. Heck, I suppose it would also mean that you'll probably get to play the game sooner. I was just speaking more from my perspective, that's all. Either way you look at it, this isn't a game I would mind picking up.

At least it's not full price. Just wait and see if the controls add a lot to the game or wait for reviews.

It's worth it for me.

That's pretty much what I'll do. Wait and see if the reviews say the controls are worth the price.

For me, it's worth. I didn't have the chance to play it on PS2. Also, Okami Wii could pull another Resident Evil 4. I mean reviews say that RE4 Wii is the best version because of the fresh controls. Okami Wii could be the same thing.

I already own the PS2 version, I got it when the game came out cause I loved the style and all the videos and previews I saw before it came out. I played through the game twice and was about to do it again only a few weeks ago but decided not too since the Wii version was coming and I didn't want to be Okami'd out when it arrived. I definitly am getting this version, and to anyone who never played or had it on the PS2, it is a must have.

There is going to be something more than just slightly tweaked graphics and the Wii controls. A day or two ago I read an interview (I think it was on IGN but I can't find it now) with one of the devs in charge of porting the game from the PS2 and Wii. He said that there was no reason to add extra content because it was already long and in some peoples' minds too long. However there would be something additional added to the game, but he wouldn't say what it was. The speculation was a co-op feature, though I've not played the game so I don't know if that would work. I'll post the link to the article if I can find it again.

I have the PS2 version. Beat it, great game. But painting with the control stick is an annoying chore. Being able to paint with the pointer alone makes it worth the extra $10.

Yes. A million times yes. It's almost certainly gonna be better with the remote to control your brush strokes.

It has more than what you say. Besides that if you have never played the PS2 version than this is absolutely a must have with no questions asked.

The real question is, should previous Okami owners get this? I say yes but thats amatter of opinion. If you really liked it on PS2 your gonna like it more on WIi with improved controls, better visuals, (secret incentive for previous owners not revealed yet).

I own it for PS2, beat it 2 times and loved it both times. I am now going to pick it up for Wii, because the controls are perfect for this game.
