Well that's the problem. I'm doing well enough on the gameplay side for my first run, but it's like just as I'm getting into it, a new cutscene happens and I have to hear that VA talking like she's taken Valium before getting on the microphone.codezer0Do you play Metroid for the story or the gameplay? There's about 10 more hours of gameplay than story in Other M, so if you're liking the gameplay, just get over the story stuff. If you don't like it at this point, you're not going to like any of it. Just have fun with the non-story parts.

He complained about the controls of Metroid Prime 3? Those controls were great. Honestly, this guy seems to be complaining for no reason. Then again, in his other posts he does complain over minor issues and makes them into mountains when they are mole hills. Not that I am trying to bash the guy, I am just saying he has a tendency to do this.
Because it never worked. Cursor was squirrelly all the time and if I let my hands rest, either it would have samus pointing at her feet, or at the ceiling. The same crap happened to me with CoD4 and W@W, and Conduit. Yet I don't have this problem in any of the rail shooters, like RE: UC and HotD. In any case, I since find myself yet able to fix that, I much prefer FPS's with the controller over the wiimote and stuff. He complained about the controls of Metroid Prime 3? The game got much better IMO, the boss battles and pacing were great since i never felt like i was doing stuff that didnt matter, yea its more linear but It made the story at hand much more urgent since there weren't giant spreads of time doing nothing.
And as far as samus goes, I'm just gonna say that samus the way she is in this game is not out of character for her, play metroid fusion and youll see what i mean shes been like this for 8 years and subtle hints from the other games do show that, anything else she might have been has always been what fans have speculated she might be.
And for those who seem to still have issues with it i direct you to this Article, It contains spoilers for those who haven't beaten the game so be warned. It lays out things pretty well, and my advice is don't go in expecting this to be super metroid or prime, it never set out to be that, I enjoyed it on its own merits.
you cant use a wiimote for fps? your like my parents.. they make the wiimote pointer go off the screen and stuff too.. this is strange because i see your an xbox gamer and you guys are supposed to be hardcore..
the cut scenes are at the beginning and at the end... you think samus sounds drunk? do you drink?
samus was always a badass loner? really? all prior games she was just a moving stick figure that you controlled... oh and yes she has daddy issues because she never had one..adam was like her dad but i guess thats too hard for you to understand.
It gets better as you go no doubt. There is so much I like about it and so much I hate. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are brilliant IMO, but I agree Super Metroid is without a doubt the best in the series and one of the best games ever made.
Every game usually does get better that's how I percieved it but many have said that it gets significantly better. Yeah it was kinda slow in the start but 'better' is hard to say. If you disliked the beginning alot then I don't see how someone can suddenly like the latter half of the game. Still, it's a Metroid game and how often do they come? It's a 12-15 hour game just play it, there are some really cool bosses/areas, if you loved SMG you will like one of the areas :P
The last 3rd of the game is the best.

Agreed. The game is better when it's not telling it's story. Towards the end, the game has a more open feel than the beginning where you're basically led by the hand from one area to the next. Very fun gameplay...
Yes, the VO work was bad. I muted the tv, turned on the closed captioning, and played my own music for the duration.
I loved the game. I have never played the Prime games so I can't comment on them or even say which are better. I loved Metroid (NES) and Super Metroid (SNES). This game reminds me of those two. The story didn't bother me either and I actually enjoyed it. I don't know why everyone keeps crying about it. If you don't like it then don't play it. I don't understand what the problem is. It's a solid game andI think people were expecting way to much from this game.
Story wise the game does not get any better. If you don't like what you've seen thus far, you won't like what you will see. The gameplay stays great all the way to the end. Actually it gets better as you unlock more features of the suit and find new equipment. It starts to resemble a 'real' Metroid game as you get to explore more, not to the extent of Super Metroid and Metroid Prime though.

Your the only one I have heard of that has had a problem with the controls in metroid prime 3. Everyone else adjusted just fine.
The controls in that game are praised by critics and users alike. The only thing annoying with the controls were a few of the gimmicks they put in the game like the doors where you had to turn the wiimote different ways to unlock it and the soldering sections. Other than that the controls were fine. If you think prime 3's controls are bad, then wii just is not for you.
