If this is a true new concept then count me out for sure, not only does the screen look flimsy, but why do we need a ds the size of a wallet? The lite is already small enough. Cool idea, but probably to poor implementation.in2DarKneSs
Yeah the screen looks a little flimsy if they made it more thicker I wouldn't have a problem. The one thing that I give who ever made the design credit for is the sliding sides. There have been other fake models, that have the sides fold in or slide. But those always looks like they would fold in in the middle of playing. These on the other hand can't, because as soon as you put the top screen up it pretty much locks the sides into place.
you do know what happens when you assume... right
ds sells well, they dont really need a new hand held, its not like the console market, unless sony starts kickin there butt, they dont have a time frame they need to keep... look at original game boy... that thing was around for ever, all it got was color.
I know that is totally fake. If Nintendo decided to make another DS model, this wouldnt be it. They wouldnt try to improve the already improved DS Lite. The only time any new DS will come out is when new features are implememented, because I highly doubt they are gonna try to make the DS even more portable than the light.ta11on
ever heard of Game Boy Micro? that was the third model of the game boy advanced series. (gba, gba sp, and micro)
HERE'S A LINK FOR THE LAZY!
Now that the reference has been linked properly, here's what I have to say:
Do we really need this? Aside from the fact that it's fake, I'd like to give mad props to the artist who took the time to create this product, since they're obviously talented in the realm of design. For the DS to slide open, allowing the top screen to flip upwards, and transforming into a playable system, I don't think this would work well at all. The concept, however, is brilliant, and the creator should feel accomplished for bringing the idea to the table.
Nintendo has proven through time that the evolution of their portable systems, has been through minimizing the actual size, without complicating the hardware. This design is too complicated to be real, but I don't imagine that the DS Lite couldn't be smaller. My guess is that Nintendo isn't going to release a smaller DS Lite before a brand new DS is announced. Seriously, there isn't anything to be improved upon with the currrent hardware in terms of design, unless Nintendo creates a more "powerful" system with new specs.
Garbage, don't go for it. Nintendo is just trying to get your money. I am a Nintendo fan, but honestly, the only new features I got out of switching to a DS Lite was the mic and 4 backlight settings. And also, there have been multiple hinge cracks for the DS Lite, think of how many parts that could break on that. furior_celtica
Don't go for what? OH NO, don't tell me you think this is real? It's pointless to give gamers advice against the fakest of false products, especially since they'll never have the option of "Not Purchasing" this fake product to begin with.
duuuude, that is soooo a fake!
conception is such a fake.
be real, we are not going to get something so damn fabulous like that anytime in our near future.

i found these by fluke some time ago, but some idiot closed that topic ( it was for only for entertaintaing, not advertising not leading somewhere)
I am sad to say that this is most likely a fake.
It looks like one of the professionaly done fakes (which are quite rare) none the less I condemn thy fake to Fake hell
yeah i noticed that too. During the whole thing it just repeteded the same view of them opening it up...
i
Why would Nintendo even make an ad if they haven't announced it yet.
And confirmed? From where?
Also, the top screen will just flip around, the stylus is in a weird position, and it just doesn't look good.
That design won't overtake my DS Lite.
Why would they have a naruto game in the ds, if it were nintendo they would have put a nintendo made game in it.
This is one of the things that make me believe it is a fake, but congrats to the artist that made such a believable thing.
I don't believe it's real, for a simple reason.
We all know how embarrassingly strict Nintendo is trying to prevent that their new casual products (Wii, DS) are used for non-children-friendly purposes, i.e. mature content or "dubious" people exchanging communication with DS/Wii-users, hence friend code systems, no online voice-chat, no DVD capabilities or video codecs on the wii, using only 2 letters when naming Miis in the Mii channel, and so forth. Nintendo is making sure there won't ever be a news article claiming that a child was attacked or exposed to pornography via a Nintendo Console.
Now this new design is supposed to offer "AM/FM radio" and "movie playing capabilities" ?! Not going to happen. This is not a Nintendo Spot.
The speakers....Where are they?!?
Oh, wait I think I see them, those 3 little bars...are those supposed to be the speakers?
lol it's so fake, nintendo don't release concept video's, they release videos of the actua product being opened
even the wiimote had a video of it coming out of the white ground thing, but at the end it was an actualy wii remote
it doesnt seem to me that an fm radio would be usefull for a ds...
i mean even in its smallest compact form it still would make for a big radio.
Its FAKE...
It looks like a Wiimote cut in half when closed, look at the thickness of the cover where the buttons rest,(you can see it as this peice of junk opens).
No speaker can fit in a milimeter space, it also looks like the speaker hole on the Wiimote. Would it have an infra-red prot on the to left side..lol
The music is lame... when they describe it as elegant and put colors like "piano black" and "pure white" it gave it away.
and finally I think Nintendo would have done a better job with the label, you see how the DS name animation is real but the "compact" is sloppy and flashed on... cmon guys
this looks like a tape player all fat and square with potruding buttons
if it was real, dont you think they could have not used the same screen shot every time it opened up?the_wet_mop
yeh i thought that
it looks fake and flimsy and if its real im gna hang onto my DS lite :)
