OMG! I'm nervous about getting Pokemon Diamond!

I used to be a big fan but stopped after Leaf Green/Fire Red cause you know why? I was humiliated!!! Family members ticked me off about me playing Pokemon. Stupid crackheads who love GTA games called me a homo and said that I'll be a virgin for life! I even sold away all my Pokemon games! I felt sad for what it looked to be like 2 years. I'm not a huge fan anymore though, I felt I need at least one Pokemon game for the DS because Pokemon games are like some of the most fun games to play on a handheld system. I have alot of issues with being negative and unconfident and everytime I think of getting a new Pokemon game, I think of what everyone would say. It drives me nuts. I really want just this game and maybe the Wii version but I'm scared of even my sister, uncle, etc. Do you know how it feels if your the only one out of most people in a family/neigborhood that likes something and everybody bashes on you for it!? I hate it!!! Everytime someone calls me something, I just staind/sit like nothing happened and stay shut. I don't know what to say back so I just take it. Why Pokemon though? Can't anyone bash on anything else? Can't anyone bash on things that they've tried instead of what they haven't tried?

Don't worry about what they think.  If you like and enjoy the game, then that's all that matters.  They are fun games.  Don't let others thoughts persuade you one way or the other.

Dude, it's Pokemon. You can't not love it, no matter how old. It's a fact of life. I bought myself used copies of LeafGreen (a couple months after I buy it used for $30!, it gets moved to Player's Choice, what bad luck) and Emerald a while back, and I'll be getting Diamond as well.SharinganEye

Most anime aren't meant for kids anyway. Naruto, FMA, Ghost in the Shell, and others are for teens and adults. By the way, I tried that with my sister about MTV and she just points about my interests against me. So yeah, it didn't work. I'm not like that anyway.nelfer320

You should play what you want to play, regardless of what ANYONE thinks.  However, bad games are bad games, and the recent lot of Pokemon titles are pretty crappy.  We've all been through this, and sometimes it's OK to realize that your favorite game franchise, music group, or movie franchise is heading down the toilet.  If you feel compelled to play, then play, but if you take a bite of a turd sandwitch, that was prepared by Queen Turdy, then be prepared to taste the pain.  My walls are breathing (is that normal?)

I hear you. I'm not really into pokemon that much but I can relate. Just tell 'em to back off. I think you should get away from the people who don't support or respect you. Or just be patient 'til you're able to. My family criticize me when I play videogames or watch cartoon/anime so I don't feel free to do so when they're around. I can't wait to move out...Revinh

I never enjoyed the GTA series. It always got repetitive.I reserved Diamond today so I am waiting.Y2Zero

Don't worry about this sort of thing if somebody bothers you then just lagugh it off dont let it get to you and dont believe what they say.   Its true that you may not a get a girl to play video games with you but that goes the same for almost every other hobbie say you play soccer some girls maybe into playing soccer and most wont.  as long as you video game habit doesnt consume every minute of your life youll be fine.  Trust me, I know, I was once 15 (about ten years ago in fact) and went through the same kind of issues and everything has worked out fine.

I haven't played Pokemon since red and blue for the original GameBoy. I haven't played Pokemon since because all of the new Pokemon put me off. Plus, I thought I was too old and cool to play it anymore. But I've grown up since then and thought that Diamond would be a great way to get back into it. The new Pokemon are still going to bug me and take away a lot of the nostalgia factor, but hopefully it will still be the fun little RPG that I remember, which I'm sure it will.

Don't let people choose your games for you. Who cares what anyone else says. Tell them to grow up, Pokemon is a great RPG that's perfect for the portable gaming world regardless of it's kiddy theme, which anyone with a pair and the ability to get over themselves would find charming. Pokemon is just fun, and that's what games are supposed to be. If they can't understand that, then why take their "game advice" seriously in the first place?

My girlfriend isn't the biggest fan of my gaming habits. I'll explain the leveling system in Oblivion or argue against Sony's business ethics and she'll pretend to listen. But when I excitedly told her "The new Pokemon games are coming out for DS!" she froze and said, "Ok, Zack, you are going too far. I can understand everything else, but Pokemon?!" I just laughed. I said, "Yeah, Pokemon, they're fun games." Jokes where exchanged, but nothing that would stop me from playing what I want to play.

Honestly, play what YOU want to play, and screw anyone that gets in your way.
