OMG that's THE ultimate Smash Bros. item!

The Gooey Bomb:

"The Gooey Bomb is a bomb that adheres to most things. It's an explosive encased in a gummy goo.
It's a little different from a Motion Sensing Bomb in the sense that it can attach itself not only to the terrain, but also to opponents.

However, it's possible to get a Gooey Bomb that's stuck to you to stick to someone else. Touching someone as you pass by may very well cause it to migrate when you least expect it!"
 

I'll admit it: it's a damn rip off of Halo's plasma grenade. But does it fit Smash Bros. frantic action! Moreover, the ability to pass it on (which wouldn't have made any sense in Halo) sounds insane!

As far as I remember, the plasma grenade is the most recent and popular gluing bomb. Why do people always have to come back years in the past believing that when someone copies something, they copied the first, one and only original version? Your comment is quite as low as those PS fanboys who try to avoid people claims of Sony copying the Wiimote by mentioning the Power Glove or something along those lines...

I personally don't think that it's that great. Instead they should of allow us to use C4 with Snake and stick it to other players (not that they hav'nt already made that I don't know???).Evzy

I prefer when they use items from the franchises too, but the C4 couldn't work like this bomb, in the sense you wouldn't be able to pass it on in hot potato fashion. Moreover the Gooey Bomb is more visible, which helps to know who has it. Maybe the C4 will be the new Mine in SSBB.

How do you know the item isn't from a game?  Has Metroid Prime 3 come out yet?  :P

It could be from any un-released game, but it seems to fit into Metroid Prime.

And I agree that it's really good.  It can add even more strategy to the game, and seems really fun.

You're all wrong. Here's where the gooey bomb idea originated--it has nothing to do with the plasma grenade in Halo.  It's ironic I stumbled upon this after reading this thread.  The idea originated from the Cho Aniki series.  Also one the SSBB composers, Koji Hayama, worked on the Cho Aniki series.

Its not 100% sure that the bomb came from the Cho Aniki series, maybe the design but not its functionality. If you read what that things does in the series its got nothing to do with a bomb that sticks. In fact that thing its a glob that can be considered semen, and its shoots stuff while 2 speedo wearing guys hover around it. Its pretty wierd and gay if u ask me. Go read it all about in here

I'll hold off on calling it the ultimate item until I play the game.
For all we know it could pack the same power of Link's bomb in SSBM and be rendered useless.
