Animal Crossing.
I usually get bored of Zelda games early on and leave them to collect dust until I get the feeling that they need to be beaten.
Animal Crossing would keep me busy because I would find things to do constantly. I'm more into the free roam-ish then the story based-ish games.
I'm with you man or better yet,i'm taking a case of waterNeither, i would take food instead.

Tough choice. On one hand,Animal Crossing has a ton of things to do,but it is quite aimless. On the other hand,Phantom Hourglass eventually ends, but it has an ultimately better sense of satisfaction because of it,and I could find new tricks and attempt to speed run it.If I had to choose,Phantom Hourglass.I prefer Animal Crossing for the Gamecube over Wild World, anyways.
I'd take Animal Crossing just because the social interaction between the townspeople would keep me sane.
I'll pick Animal Crossing because I never played it and I beaten my Phantom Hourglass so much that I'm sick of Tetra, the color blue, ship parts, and entering the Temple of the OceanKing for my 247th time.
And what's the point of exploring virtual islands when you have a real one in front of you? o__O
