Mario kart used the pay to play service?

I myself would be furious, this looks to be one of the fun online games coming out this year.

I say a 9

slightly disapointed, but i dont play that much online as ive never found the difference between some stranger across the world and the computer players. If i want to play against someone it would be a friend in the same room as me.

Well, human players are just far more ruthless. They don't walk into trip mines like the computers in SSBM.

And the mentality of knowing you're competing with other people online... but theres also scoreboards and records and such right? Thats a biggie for me personally.

Wii really needs some good online play (besides SSBB). If they did I'd almost throw my wii into thier headqurters. Almost.

If Nintendo does charge for online when their online game selection is horrible I will completly give up on them and get a PS3.

I would be a level 9 mad.

If they put in voicechat and a really good matchmacking system then I wouldn't be mad about paying. But if they make me pay to play online and it's just as barebones as the DS versions online then I'll be really mad.

1, I probably won't play online. Maybe a few times when it's first released, but as soon as things like "snaking" appear, like in MKDS, and any other glitch/exploit rears its ugly head, I'm gone. I'd rather not pay money to watch people cheat.

mariokart aint gonna use it ,,, it probably wont be used unless a mmo is released i dont see how a normal fps racing or fighting game would use it,, as they dont sell cards like xbox live does , and i dont think nintendo will use it them selves i think its optional it could also be for just like i said mmos or 3rd parties who are greedy other wise mariokart already has box art and shows a regualr blue wifi symbol , it would have to have a red one , and have specail features like voice etc . rest asured it probably w ill not be as bas ,, and they will probably start selling yearly online cards so its like xbox live not that expensive also it be good bc that will probably mean more advanced service , more features nintendo already confirmed dlc to come and wii ware which is original games like xbla has ,

well it will only be a matter of time before sony goes this way as well,, theyve already talked about it ,, so ya, i wouldnt give up as theyve already announced nice plans ahead, and ssbb wont use it nor will mariokart ,, its already near release and has a blue wifi thing ,, and there will still be free online games, it wont be completely like 360 where youd pay for every game ,, it was already said games with a red seal are the ones you pay to play online the other ones are free

Honestly whatever it would cost I could probably afford it, and for Mario Kart it would easily be worth my money. No question. Free is always ideal but hey, there's nothing wrong with Nintendo or any company making money money off of anything they produce. I could never hold that against them. That would make me a horrible fan and consumer. I would be aboot a level 2. Don't really care.

As an aside however: I don't really think that Mario Kart will fall under "Pay to Play". And if it does I'm sure it'll be something other than paying to race online. We'll see.

i depends how much they charge you... if it was a one time charge of like $10 or less i wouldnt be mad, if they made the online play amazing, but if they make you pay a monthly fee of like $5, then id be mad!

A 10 most definitely. Mario Kart without online just wouldn't be Mario Kart. Not in THIS generation anyways.

I would be about an 8, becasue in some game I play wi-fi alot (Mario Strickers Charged). We have the money to pay for it, Im just not sure if my parents will pay for it. Hopefully it isnt Mario Kart Wii because I wont be able to play wi-fi in that game as much. It probably will be Mario Kart Wii because hell of people will buy it. Does SSBB have it?

Nintendo would never do that. All of their online services are free.

Edit: Uh oh. I just read the article that talked about the Pay to Play program. I don't think Mario Kart or SSBB will be one of those though because in Japan Brawl is normal Wi-Fi and the boxshot of MK didn't have the orange logo they were talking about.

*sigh* I hope they don't try to replace the free service with the Pay to Play program.

I'd say 5, because I would still buy it, I don't play on-line that much.

Also, I think that's impossible, if it were "Pay to Play", they would have said it already.

0 since it will not use that. Someone should post the box-art. You'll see the logo of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is blue. The Pay to play logo is orange.

Well I think the pay to play is just features... So you would still be able to play online on Nintendo Wi-Fi... just the same old bare bones online though.

A 10. It costed me $40 for the Lan adapter. How much more money can I spend? I understand paying to play at an internet hot spot, but absolutely not in the comfort of my home. I'd only be mad if I had to pay for SSBB.

10, the day that I have to start paying to use my own frigging internet connection to pay online is the day that I stop playing online. I already pay for my bandwidth, there is no dam way some company is going to make me pay more for it.

I would only be level 9 mad if they make us pay for online features that I have already heard of (the actual playing online, the leaderboard channel, etc.). I wouldn't be nearly as mad if they only had us pay for extra features like voice chat.

Well, if they add features like how xbox live does, voice chat, or just text chat and even an easier way to add friends to your friends list, I would be willing to pay for it, but if we have to pay for it and the service is still the same I would be disappointed, although I would still be disappointed by the fact that I have to pay Nintendo went the longest time giving us free wi-fi play, why the sudden change? Now if they made a pokemon MMO then I would be fine with paying for it since then it would make since.
